Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I worked as a paralegal for 38 years. Twenty-eight in Colorado, six in California and six in New Mexico. No lo press is a California company, so this book is more for pro se people in California. Well written, fairly easy to follow. It could provide some help to people in other states, but mostly targets califo

⭐After failing in arbitration because I ran out of money and I could not pay my lawyer to attend and did not know at that time that I could present evidence. I searched out what to do next and I found this book. Simple concise instruction on what to do prior to your court date. This book shows you how to get your ducks in a row when defending yourself. I spent about a month reading and writing out what I would need to do starting with an outline. I then (as the book instruction) put a notebook together of all my notes including my evidence against the Plaintiff. and actually wrote out counter arguments for questions I thought the person’s attorney would ask at each stage. Direct questioning by his own attorney, my questions for cross examination, my direct questions and adding my exhibits into evidence and my closing arguments. Although I am not 100%, I am much more confident and ready to defend myself because of this book explaining every step (and I mean every step) in detail.

⭐My fiancée said it was very helpful he still isn’t done reading it and some things are still hard to understand but for the most part it helps when your just going to jail and preparing for trial…

⭐Great general information about bringing a civil suit yourself. Good advice and lots of important tips and warnings throughout. A must-read for anyone considering representing themselves in court. Bear in mind that this will not be the only thing you need to read, but it will steer you to resources that are essential to familiarize yourself with: Rules of Evidence, Rules of Civil Procedure, and local court rules. Gives some helpful samples of various motions and explains events that are likely to take place, from filing your suit, to discovery, pre-trial conferences, voire dire jury selection, courtroom trial procedures and ettiquette, and post-trial business. I checked this book out from my public library, and then realized I needed to have my own copy for repeated reference.

⭐It lacks many critical details such as how to find case law, local civil procedure, deadlines, how to prep your case for appeal, etc. It obviously wasn’t written by a litigator.

⭐80% of Americans cannot afford a lawyer! This book is essential to defending your rights in court! Very useful and chock full of legal resources!

⭐Very helpful. Filed our own case Pro Se!

⭐Very good price as compared to hiring a lawyer. Provides very good simple illustrations and examples to help you defend yourself or begin your own law suit without hiring a lawyer. All required court forms are also illustrated and can be used as templates. This book is a must for people who desire to be a Pro Se Litigant (representing yourself). Regardless, much of the work needed to be an effective Pro Se Litigant lies on your shoulders alone, however, this book provides knowledge regarding necessary preparation.
