⭐Not a textbook but rather a timeless classic set of notes on asymptotic methods. Chapter 1: Asymptotic series. Chapter 2: Integrals (including but not limited to, Laplace integrals, Laplace’s method, method of steepest descents, Airy’s integral, Fourier integral). Chapter 3: Singularities of differential equations (including but not limited to, classification of singularities, normal solutions, asymptotic expansions). Chapter 4: Differential equations with a large parameter (including but not limited to, Liouville’s problem, asymptotic solutions, Airy functions).
⭐if you’re into asymptotic expansions, then you’ll like this book.
⭐although by now it is quite outdated. However, books on asymptotic mathematics are still rare and you should not begin an honest study without consulting Erdelyis’s masterpiece. Here are the basics!
