Description

Every year, hundreds of thousands of students in the U.S. enter college totally clueless as to their choice of a major, and even less sure about what they will do with the rest of their lives. But for a growing number of students, the financial pressures of college are far more taxing than the academic rigors of campus life. As a result, many students rely heavily on financial aid, loans, part-time jobs, strict budgets, and whatever money their parents can afford to send them. Many students take dead-end jobs with no relevance to their college programs, while others even work on a full-time basis—sacrificing grades for dollars—and unwittingly setting themselves up to become college drop-outs. However, students don’t have to suffer through a penniless college existence, nor must they wait until after graduation to find a career and make money. Instead, they can generate income by launching their own businesses while on campus, taking advantage of the period in their lives during which any number of once-in-a-lifetime perks and resources are readily available to them. The Campus CEO walks any would-be entrepreneur through all the necessary steps to launching a profitable, campus-based business, while simultaneously achieving academic success. Regardless of major, background, or area of interest, readers of The Campus CEO will learn how to turn their academic and professional dreams into reality.

User’s Reviews

Editorial Reviews: About the Author Randal Pinkett outlasted 17 other candidates to become the first African-American winner of NBC’s acclaimed reality TV show The Apprentice. In addition, Pinkett owns BCT Partners, a multi-million dollar business started with several college pals while at Rutgers University. After graduating from Rutgers with a 3.9 grade point average, he went on to become a Rhodes Scholar and earn four more degrees, including a Ph.D. from MIT. Thanks to his academic savvy and his profitable campus-based business, Randal managed to graduate from college completely debt free – a rare feat for most college students.

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐Great book! Every aspiring entrepreneur should grab this book. Entrepreneurship is not easy; you need a book like this as a guide.

⭐I found this book to be a relatively fast and easy read. First and foremost, Pinkett does a great job of instilling entreprenurial confidence in his student readers. Beyond that, the author ties in his own past experiences well with each chapter. This real world dialog greatly aids in the books overall credibility. While the book does not provide all answers, it does not attempt to. Pinkett gives just enough information to get the reader’s wheels turning. From there, the entrepreneur within is supposed to take over. While the contents of the book apply to all business enterprises, the author does a good job of really hammering home the unique opportunities young student entrepreneurs hold (particularly in the later chapters). For aspiring campus start-ups, I would recommend a combination of both Campus CEO and a more comprehensive entreprenurial MBA style of book.

⭐whether your in college or, high school, or already working this book is a must read for anybody thinking of starting their own business. It is very insightful and gives you a great breakdown of all the aspects of starting running and owning your own business. Randall nails it on the head with this on.!

⭐I used this book for my Media and Entreprenuer course. It’s straight forward, and asks practical questions to get you where you want/need to be.

⭐I love the book – easy read and great examples.

⭐It was a gift for my brother.

⭐I gave this guide to my young nephew who loved it and started a small cleaning business. Inspiring and tremendously informative!

⭐Great
