⭐An 1968 review in an AMS journal wasn’t very fair: this book isn’t meant for the faint in heart or beginning student. The book has a lot of derivations of very complex formulas and polynomial sets.It goes into Umbral calculus and orthogonal polynomials.I got it on interlibrary loan and I’d really like to have it.As hard as some of these derivations are it will take me yearts to get everything out of this bookand I only have two weeks!Dr. Riordan was one of the founders of AT&T’s New Jersey labsand their research. He published a paper on a near Narayanageneralization with the now famous Ron Graham.The book is a post graduate level text:maybe for Ph.D.’s doing advanced studies in combinatorial analysis?
