Editorial Reviews: About the Author John Mathews earned his Ph. D. in Complex Analysis from Michigan State University and is an emeritus professor of mathematics at California State University Fullerton. His research interests include Numerical Methods and Complex Analysis and he has co-authored books in both areas and authored numerous articles on how to enhance teaching mathematics with the use of Matlab, Maple and Mathematica.Russell Howell (M.Sc., Computer Science, University of Edinburgh; Ph.D., Mathematics, The Ohio State University) has taught undergraduates and graduates at a variety of institutions including Calvin College and the University of Maryland. He currently is Professor of Mathematics at Westmont College. He specialties in Complex Analysis and connections of Mathematics with Philosophy and Faith. He has been twice awarded as Teacher of the Year at Westmont.

⭐Ho acquistato questo libro per l’università.All’inizio di ogni capitolo ci sono scritti gli obiettivi del capitolo, divisi in motivazioni e importanza nelle applicazioni, cosa che personalmente trovo molto interessante (soprattutto perché mi fornisce le informazioni per capire cosa sto per affrontare). Gli esercizi svolti sono molti e parecchio utili, sono presenti anche esercizi da svolgere per poter applicare le regole imparate e alla fine del libro è presente la soluzione parziale degli esercizi.The book seems to be intended to be read in parallel to a course. I would not recommend the text for a self study. The theory is not given in a strict logical way. Exercises and examples interrupt the reading flow instead of clarifying. This material should be put to the end of any chapter instead of mixing the material.Somebody who likes to study the material under selforganisation this book is not to recommend. Lectures who look for excercises and application examples may consult this text.
