⭐I found this book valuable as a historical document, about DEC developments in particular, and minicomputers in general. The language employed may sound too “technocratic” at times, quite academic at other times, specially by today standards when technical books are usually written in more colloquial tones. But that’s fine, and it is part of the book’s historical value too.

⭐This isn’t as ground breaking a technical book as I thought, nor did it contain the historical references I was hoping for. It’s a pile of random ideas pasted together in a rather disorganized way. A lot of the information here is internal justifications and market study information used to start up projects within DEC. While this is interesting and as such it is a component of engineering it’s not really the meat of computer engineering any technical sense. There is some technical stuff, but it’s scattered and spotty in its coverage.

⭐Great Classic Computer Engineering book from bygone days

⭐This manual is a REAL gem. It’s a first edition hardback and has a dust jacket, which is slightly worn. However, the contents are brilliant ! It has been used by other people who have left some useful notes in the margins – very interesting and helpful. Unbelievable bargain at £7.71p !!!
