⭐This book presents a mathematical formalism for solving many problems optical turbulence. These calculations specific to the Rytov approximation. It takes some time and patience to understand it all at a detailed level, but it is worthwhile. I use it often to calculate variances, covariances, and power spectral densities of optical wave properties.
