⭐Although this book is almost thirty years old, in a real sense it remains the most modern of all quantum field theory textbooks. Wilson’s approach to the renormalization group is baked in from the beginning, and new ideas are always first presented in the simplest models for which they are relevant. The author is especially focused on understanding phenomena such as confinement and theta vacua that are inaccessible via the perturbative methods that are the focus of most other books, and oft-neglected topics such as the 1/N expansion and conformal invariance are given their due here. Highly recommended.
