Description
Intended to introduce readers to the major geometrical topics taught at undergraduate level in a manner that is both accessible and rigorous, the author uses world measurement as a synonym for geometry – hence the importance of numbers, coordinates and their manipulation – and has included over 300 exercises, with answers to most of them.
User’s Reviews
Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐notation is key in mathematics. not so for this author – much is not standard. too much confusion between segments, lines, and vectors that may be amended by relenting to use the arrow symbol
⭐i recommend to all. very good service
⭐Needed it for class.
⭐The book on its own isn’t the most helpful thing for geometry. Especially if you don’t already have a basic understanding of it. The book goes right into college level geometry and put in a way that can be confusing. It didn’t work for me but may be helpful to someone who is already good at geometry and is looking for something to do.
⭐The best geometry book available for someone who has a working knowledge algebra. Well written and moves from the basic to the intermediate at a measured pace. HIGHLY recommended.
⭐Fenn introduces terms without anywhere defining them and seems to have no understanding of pedagogical technique or form. Much of this strange and useless textbook is like a rant from a mind wandering mathematician spouting interesting titbits from the top of their head to an empty room.Only buy this textbook if you enjoy being confused and frustrated and especially if you are uninterested in learning. It is way past its use-by-date.
⭐One of the worst maths books I’ve ever read. The whole book is just a bunch of almost random statements, most of them without proofs. Notation is terrible. For example, XY may denote line through points X and Y, scalar product of X and Y or distance between points X and Y.I think it is a good book for someone who wants to pass an exam as a source of formulas to use, but for anyone else who has any interest in Geometry it is absolutely useless. For those who don’t know geometry it doesn’t explain anything. For those who already know something it is not able to provide any new information or systematize the existing knowledge.
⭐For the price this is great..
⭐Very well written, an intuitive approach with rigorous proofs. The Kindle edition is properly formatted too
