This text, in addition to treating the basic material in some depth, includes a wide variety of applications, both to real-world problems and to other branches of mathematics. ⭐This is a textbook ok for upper-class undergrad or first-year grad. It contains some brief motivations and explanations but it is mostly written in a grad textbook way, i.e. definition-theorem-proof type. But much easier to read than Diestel’s, in my opinion. The exercises are great, and most of them are proofs.There is a newer and largely expanded version by the same authors. This one is still more than adequate for an introduction and worth buying if you want a paper copy and aren’t that sure about digging deeper into graph theory.

⭐This is a classic book on graph theory. However, it’s quite outdated and is superseded by the author’s new book. Now this book can be downloaded from the author’s website for free.

⭐This is a great book. It’s supposed to be used in a first course in Graph Theory; so don’t worry if it doesn’t cover everything. It’s supposed to be basic (but that does not mean it isn’t rigorous!). It’s a joy to read, and is (in my opinon) the perfect choice for a one-semester undergraduate course (for Math or Computer Science majors).
