We are born boys. The transition from misery to meaning is an internal process that requires work: reflection, pain, courage, and sometimes, a rebirth. Kim knows because he’s been there. User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐He has an awesome energy and I like his practical tips and teachings .I think he has made my life better thanks to his amazing and eye opening content

⭐Overall, pretty good stuff. I was happy to find I had already adopted some of the principles within. Some parts are written so that you’ll feel bad about yourself, which I didn’t like. However, good advice on being a kind, giving, responsible man in today’s world.

⭐John Kim is the vulnerable voice that all men search a lifetime to hear. As men, we’re taught by a broken system of non self compassion. We’re taught that feelings are for women and the weak, Love is a word, a bandage, we men put on, not to help, but to hide our own pain. Thank you John for your Honest, straight forward, non judgemental words. We as men, are all guilty of throwing away the directions, because we always know how to do it without asking for help. Thank God or any higher power you believe in, John didn’t throw away these directions . Please, do yourself the kindest favor you’ll ever do for yourself. Buy, read, comprehend, and become a better, more authentic, and ultimately, a real MAN! Thank you, Namaste, and Gomabseubnida!

⭐Not sure if it’s the point in my life, where I am in life, or the current relationship I am in now that made me find self help but I am realizing I am not the only one going through these struggles. This book had a lot of good points that I could hopefully remember and apply it to my life.

⭐Very practically written and helpful.

⭐I follow John Kim (Instagram, podcast, blogs etc). He has a really great voice and solid insights into lots of different topics including this one which I would categorize as being a better man. Of course, as a woman I don’t need to know how to be a better man so much as I was curious on this man’s take on what being a man was really all about. It was illuminating and amusing. If you’ve read any Brene Brown about shame and masculinity and how that manifests itself, this is a great complimentary read. Buy it, you’ll like it.

⭐Face value this book is kinda lame for me. It’s made more for boys without kids. That being said there is some good stuff to absorb The author should go into more detail on subjects described. His “manly” views make more sense if a woman explains it after you get confused.

⭐when i first bought it ,i didn’t thing it would be that good, but it is

⭐While there were some good points in the book on communication, being happy vs being right (ie listening to the other and not needing to prove them wrong, just live with it) and great points on focus, goals and not going with the crowd…There was a lot of repetition from every other book I’ve read. That I can live withBut a whole chapter telling readers not to eat with their mouth open??I’m not sure animals who don’t know this already will be able to read so surely not worth putting in the book…This was just the worst example of some highly condescending advice, that as you can tell really offended me…

⭐Been listening to John Kim’s podcasts for about a year and a half now and was really looking forward to this book coming out. And now that it is – it’s even better than I expected it to be. Really easy to read and although it is directed at men it is actually relevant to everyone, regardless of their gender. One of my friends reading my copy now and I bought another copy a couple of days ago to be sent to one of my good friends as a present..and I know he will enjoy it as much as I did. Highly recommend. John Kim, thank you!

⭐Introduced to John Kim through his ‘The Angry Therapist’ podcasts that do exactly what they aim to – create dialogue. It’s obvious that John Kim has worked hard to become the man he is today and he shares freely the lessons he believes will allow others to become the best version of themselves. John Kim presents himself with transparency and humour, allowing us to remember our human failings as we work towards improvement. I find myself paying his blended knowledge and wisdom forward in everyday scenarios, and he continues to encourage and inspire me (if only on the page or in the ear) to keep leaning into the resistance on a daily basis. Highly recommend the podcasts, following him on Instagram or reading the book.

⭐Whilst going through a hard time and trying to find myself this gave clarity on the type of man you need to be to live and good fulfilled life. Great read and some great goals to hit

⭐I bought this book on recommendation. It is utter tripe, another ‘self help; book that you will read and instantly forget.
