Description

Designed for first-year developmental math students who need support in intermediate algebra, the Fourth Edition of Intermediate Algebra owes its success to the hallmark features for which the Larson team is known: learning by example, accessible writing style, emphasis on visualization, and comprehensive exercise sets. These pedagogical features are carefully coordinated to ensure that students are better able to make connections between mathematical concepts and understand the content. The new Student Support Edition continues the Larson tradition of guided learning by incorporating a comprehensive range of student success materials throughout the text. Additionally, instructors and students alike can track progress with HM Assess, a new online diagnostic assessment and remediation tool from Houghton Mifflin.

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐Written by some of the most famous mathematicians made it a classic book for beginners.

⭐This seller is on December 19,2010. I purchased a mathematics book .I paid for it and the has been deducted from my credit card . However, This guy confirmed many times to me I must receive my order not late than January 11, 2011. Up to now I never saw any item. I am felt up and want my money back at all cost.

⭐Good book; received quickly and according to the specifications. I would deal with the seller again.

⭐What a find! My daughter needed this for her college course. The school was charging $130 for this book! We got it for less than $20 including shipping! It arrived quickly and in perfectly new condition. She’ll be getting all her course books from this seller.

⭐Ordered it used and got it quickly and looked branded new. Helped me get through my math class as my math teacher didn’t like explaining himself over and over. In the end got me one of the few passing grades in the class

⭐It does the job, but i wasn’t expecting a student help edition, with instructors annotations. They are really good for reviewing whether my answers were wrong or right, and the tear out formulas are good, if i forget how to use simple interest, or how to get the circumference of a circle.

⭐We are home schooling and used this text along with the accompanying DVDs (isbn: 9780618388332.)

⭐We find this Houghton Mifflin series to be understandable as well as going into applicable topics in good depth. The explanations are good and the examples are useful. The chapters are: 1 – Fundamentals Algebra; 2 – Linear Equations + Inequalities; 3 Graphs + Functions; 4 – Systems of Equations + Inequalities; 5 – Polynomials + Factoring; 6 – Rational Expressions, Equations + Functions; 7 – Radicals + Complex Numbers; 8 – Quadratic Equations, Functions, + Inequalities; 9 – Exponential + Logarithmic Functions; 10 – Conics; 11 – Sequences, Series, and the Binomial Theorem.
