User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐This book is a collection of speeches by John Bogle primarily between 1998 and 2000. After reading half the book, I skimmed the last 200 pages because it became very redundant. Although each speech gives the reader another nugget of information about index funds, it could have been condensed into a much smaller presentation. That’s why I would recommend “The Little Book of Common Sense Investing”, also by Bogle. I didn’t pan the book because it will probably have great value to Bogle scholars and anybody studying passive index investing. That said, if you enjoy essays, this book may be for you.

⭐Great book, still in the process of reading it however I thought it better reinforced my knowledge about the finance industry overall and gave me a wider array of an outlook. Granted my major is in Finance, this book really tailored to my preference. I was most pleased with the service by Amazon, great job on expediting the shipping process! You guys rock!

⭐This is a well written book with lots of wisdom and insights. Once again John Bogle has knocked the ball out of the park with his infinite wisdom.

⭐Helped a friend to learn the basics of investing.

⭐The Bible for Investing. Bogle is a giant in the field of investing. Vanguard has added tremendous value for investors, which is not the norm for most mutual fund companies and investment advisors.

⭐Ive bought about 5 copies, and given them to friends and family. John Bogle does a great job explaining how to maximize your investments, and has nice examples and charts to show the differences. If you can’t buy it, please read it at the library.

⭐I am a fan of Jack Bogle. He is the guardian angel to all small investors…….a man of great integrity and wisdom.

⭐Wonderful story…. andlife

⭐A little pricy, but book was in perfect condition.

⭐Not found.

⭐Although his insights are educational to an individual investor,But the book is basically meant for mutual fund investorsHis approach is buying the whole indexAbout the book, repetitions of his ‘One Line investment strategy’ are so annoying that a DoddsVille resident can’t read the complete book

⭐It is an Ok book. He keep harping on : Indexed Equity Investment through Mutual Funds, keeping the Expense Ratio of Mutual Funds to the minimum and having Good Corporate Governance in place at the Mutual Fund institution. To me personally, the chapters on Bond Funds was very useful. Else, would recommend reading Random Walk Down Wall Street.

⭐The book has useful information but it is super repetitive. A lot of the book is fluff and some of the chapters are extremely dry to read. The one positive thing it did was it ingrained the idea of not speculating on individual stocks.
