⭐A little disappointed with this purchase — not with the text, of course, but with the edition. From the jaded look of the typeface it appears to be a reproduction of an earlier edition rather than an actual reprint. I should probably have sought a used original edition.

⭐This is a very special book. Diuedonne captures some of the spirit of Mathematics and explains some important results which have had far-reaching effects, such as Cardoni’s formula for the cubic equation, without disappearing behind impenetrable clouds of definitions and ‘obvious’ logical steps which are not at all obvious. That said, it is like alll good maths books, a dense read. Take it slowly, work through the logic and you will get your reward.
