⭐This is classic old book
⭐is THE ONE all engineers must read. Nowadays, the exploit of software–commonly resorting to finite element formulations–has indoctrinated a shallow understanding of the fundamentals of Physics into the minds of the new generations of practitioners. There will not be a thriving journey through the world of Finite Element Mechanics without an understanding of Continuum Mechanics. Highly accurate finite elements not only use lengths which are much larger than inter-atomic distances, but also are derived from differential equations formulated using Continuum Mechanics. Numerical analysis resorting to finite elements converges if its results are `close’ to those provided by Continuum Mechanics. Engineers, it is entertaining and fun. Let’s read this book and honor Cauchy, the French civil engineer and mathematician who first formulated Continuum Mechanics in XIX century.
