⭐ Even though Monster Blood(TM) is one of the defining monsters from the Goosebumps series, the stories built around them have never felt particularly strong. Monster Blood is just too nebulously powerful. It makes things grow; hungers for whoever gets in its way; makes things bad while toeing the line of contradicting itself. It doesn’t help that Evan, the hero in the early Monster Blood books, is just not very interesting. His defining characteristic seems to be complaining about everything. Boooooring. And he’s back to lead this third adventure around the impossible Monster Blood goopy goop, even though he once again spends the entire story fighting to stay out of the adventure. It would have been better to focus the story around one of Evan’s more interesting cousins, either Andy or Kermit. His cousin Kermit is awful — awful — and consistently gets away with blaming his own mischief on Evan. He’s a brat. But he’s a very smart brat, spending his freetime on chemistry experiments. Evan and his happy-go-lucky better cousin, Andy, hatch a plot to scare Kermit by injecting Monster Blood into his experiments. The intent is to give him something he can’t be in control of, and, unfortunately, no one’s able to control the joke. Evan eats some of the Monster Blood by accident, and quickly finds himself a giant around town: He gets even — nonviolently — with the local bully; he helps unhook kids’ kite from a tree; he shows off his giant (accidental) basketball skills; and he runs from cops and firemen who are absolutely convinced he’s a space alien. It was OK. Easily the weakest of the first three Monster Blood tales. The main conflict was Evan’s relationship with his cousin Kermit, and the story rarely leaves that conflict or Evan’s boring observations. Because of that, it felt a bit more narrow than the preceding stories.5/10## “You were looking at my yard. That’s trespassing,” Conan accused. He leaped down from the high fence. He was big and very athletic. His hobby was leaping over kids he had just pounded into the ground.
⭐ Evan and Andy are back again with the Monster Blood. This time, they wanna use it as revenge against Evan’s cousin,Kermit. Poor kid! What a horrible name! Anyway, Kermit is a Science and Math geek and he’s eight years old. He enjoys coming up with schemes to make it look like Evan, his babysitter, is being mean to him. His mother buys it all the time. The revenge plot doesn’t quite work out as planned. Andy decides to sip some of the monster blood into one of Kermits’ experiments and instead of frightening him, Kermit thinks it’s awesome. Even when it explodes and Evan is turned into a Giant. Roughly two stories high and has to get out of his aunts house before he gets to said height. After Evan stops growing, there’s a random baseball game that doesn’t last long because the law starts to get involved when one of Evan’s bullies convinces the law that he’s dangerous.i think this goosebumps was the best book out of the series and I rate it 5 stars its that good.
⭐ Immediately following Monster Blood II, the reading of which compelled me to buy this book. And I’m glad I did. It arrived in good condition, and in plenty of time. The covers are a bit worn, but this was not a secret when the original condition was described as “Acceptable.” The seller was accurate, honest, and listed the right price. I would do it again, and I recommend this book to anyone.
⭐ My grandson was so EXCITED when he opened the mail and there was his new Goosebumps book! He was not interested in reading until I got him hooked. I am so pleased with the fact that I can pick them out online and have them mailed to him. In a short time, he is calling me on the phone to thank me!!
⭐ Arrived quickly and as described
⭐ great purchase
⭐ Came on time, and amazing books for young readers!
⭐ The third time is the charm. She saved the best for last. This is the 3rd in the Monster Blood series & by far, the best!
⭐ great
⭐ Evan Ross doesn’t like his cousin Kermit very much. Kermit doesn’t like to do the things that most kids his age do: he doesn’t enjoy playing outside or even playing video games inside. Instead, all he likes to do is work on science experiments in his basement. Kermit also likes to play mean practical jokes on Evan and Evan’s female friend, Andy. After having gotten into too much trouble and being the butt of Kermit’s jokes, Evan and Andy decide to have their own little fun and decide to get revenge on Kermit by putting some old Monster Blood in one of Kermit’s experiments. However, any time Evan plays around with Monster Blood things go wrong and in MONSTER BLOOD III, things are no different. Kermit ends up getting Evan to drink the potion with the Monster Blood in it and Evan grows into a giant.MONSTER BLOOD III isn’t as frightening as some of the Goosebump books. MONSTER BLOOD was a little frightening (there were witches involved after all) and MONSTER BLOOD II involved a giant hamster, so there were tinges of a fearful beast on the loose. MONSTER BLOOD III is more like ATTACK OF THE 50 FOOT WOMAN or THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN.Overall, if you liked the character of Evan Ross from MONSTER BLOOD and MONSTER BLOOD III, you will probably enjoy MONSTER BLOOD III.
