Description

For over a decade Nefertiti, wife of the heretic king Akhenaten, was the most influential woman in the Bronze Age world; a beautiful queen blessed by the sun-god, adored by her family and worshipped by her people. Her image and her name were celebrated throughout Egypt and her future seemed golden. Suddenly Nefertiti disappeared from the royal family, vanishing so completely that it was as if she had never been. No record survives to detail her death, no monument serves to mourn her passing and to this day her end remains an enigma – her body has never been found. Joyce Tyldesley here provides a detailed discussion of the life and times of Nefertiti, Egypt’s sun queen, set against the background of the ephemeral Amarna court.

User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I am greatly satisfied with my selection. I love learning about the life and journey of Nefertiti. What a wise and awesome woman. Thank you to the seller who sold me this book.

⭐This book gives remarkable information on the woman history almost forgot. Dr. Tyldesley has done it again, and this book is going on my shelf right next to Hatshepsut! I purchased this book for research on a historical fiction novel I’m writing, and you really get a great idea of how Nefertiti lived, if not how she died. It’s an awesome addition to any Egypt collection.

⭐Egypt’s sun queen, and one of the loveliest women in the world – if the crowned bust that has immortalized her beauty is any indication of it – is explored here with thoughtful consideration. A long researched portrait of her family and the city in which she reigned that includes the author’s own imaginative speculation.

⭐As advertised

⭐Excellent read.

⭐enjoyed the book.

⭐Awesome Novel

⭐RESEARCH HAS MOVED HER STORY ON SINCE THIS WAS PUBLISHEDThe discovery of an inscription confirming Nefertiti was alive at the end of the reign of Akhenaton invalidates the chapter on Nefertit’s supposed fall or early deathBut it sets useful background and expands on the meagre evidence left

⭐This book is both enjoyable and informative. The author takes pains to consider the evidence ,scant as it is,in a balanced manner, presenting it to the reader for likely conclusions to be drawn.Best I have read on this subject.

⭐I understand the book was 2nd hand, but the smell coming from it made it un-readable, I can’t hold it long enough, as the stench is so strong, which is a real shame, gutted about it. Will keep it as it is whst i ordeted but juzt wobt read it unfortunately

⭐I haven’t as yet read all of this book, but what I have read is great. Tyldesley is a very good writer from ‘Egyptian’ novices to those of a higher level. Can’t wait to read the rest.

⭐Anything written by Joyce Tyldesley is amazing!
