Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐Brother sold me his Nikon D5000 without a manual. I thought maybe I should try and get a manual for this camera. This will be my first digital camera and it looks very intimidating with all these buttons and dial. It’s a lot different than point adjust and shoot. Look like you have to be a NASA engineer or an astronaut to be able to work this digital camera.Get this book it will explain most of your questions on what everything is on this camera. You may start off as being a dummies, but when you finished, you will end up with a PHD in the knowledge of your camera..

⭐Excellent step by step on features on the camera Nikon D-5200

⭐This is an excellent learning and reference guide for the Nikon D5000 owner. The content covers every aspect, and some nuances, of the Nikon D5000. Some basic understanding of photography helps with the syntax, however, Julie Adair King does an excellent job of keeping it simple for the average photo-hobbiest. When raising the level of “techno-speak” to clarify the capabilities of the D5000, she keeps the reader experience level relevant by suggesting or recommending respective D5000 feature settings based on her own experiences. The overall format and layout of the subject matter makes it a great reference book. It is easy to find specific topics or subjects when referring back to refresh or to re-enforce learning. The print and color picture quality is also excellent.

⭐I thought it was well written and illustrated. Easy to understand.

⭐Great reference guide for a beginner.

⭐its okay- hard to get into- seems like a lot to read before it even tells you how to take a picture- some of it is too technical for me being a beginner

⭐It’s a great book except it’s not written for total dummies. It’s more of an intermediate arena. I needed a book for ‘real dummies’ and this is not it. If you have partial knowledge of how to operate a camera, this is probably for you, if not, hire a person to instruct.

    ⭐Wife loves it

⭐Having struggled with the Nikon supplied user manual for quite some time I found this book excellentI am sure all of the information is in the Nikon one, but it is not presented in an easily managable manner for my liking, especially the size of the printing.Do not be put off by the word’Dummies’ in the title of this book. I have several books in this range and was not disapointed in the quality and logical layout in this one. It is so easy to find what one is looking for, with hints and tips to help also.I feel this book is useful to both newcomers and the already seasoned photographer to get the best out of what is a splendid camera if one can drive it to it’s full potential.Very good value for the money, and as described on the Amazon site,The down side is it is not so portable as the Nikon supplied one, which is more of a booklet, it just fits in my camaera bag if required.

⭐I am new to the world of digital SLR and needed a little push in the right direction. This book puts categories is the simplest terms possible ( but even then you have to go back) it’s great! My advice is have your camera with you and do a bit at a time. After reading this you’ll be off Auto in no time and exploring the possibilities of what the camera can do with a little time an effort. Pictures never looked so good. Without this guide I’d probably of been scared of opting out of the Auto or Scene modes, not that these modes aren’t good as they are awesome. But this book helps you develop and shows you what your camera and you are capable of.

⭐Clearer and much easier to use than the official Nikon manual. This lives in my camera bag and I never take my camera anywhere without it

⭐I found this a good enough book on the Nikon D 5000 but a lot of the stuff in it could be in simpler language, That said it is a gem compared with Nikons own manual, which I frankly boring to read. I have continued to learn things about my Nikon D 5000 which I was not even aware of. I got this book delivered in good shape and in a fairly short time. All in all I am pleased with my purchase

⭐First few chapters are Looking to reading more. I have had my camera for a while and wish I had bought this sooner.
