User’s Reviews
Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
āHavenāt finished all of the text, but I have found some of the chapters difficult to follow. Seems like some of the equations and discussion lack necessary context. I really started running into this issue during future pricing. But overall, the text includes a lot of necessities in quant finance.
āThis book is extremely knowledgable, in fact my professor teaches every lesson out of it. It is very detailed and as helpful as it gets for a topic this detailed and hard. It has plenty of practice problems with a solutions book that can be bought on Amazon or found online if you search hard enough. I decided to rent this book as it is pretty costly if you decide to buy it, some $300..
āAmong the better finance textbooks I’ve seen. The material is very dry and super dense, but I was able to learn from it. My problem with the book is how “cheap” it feels for the price. The paper is super thin, it’s entirely B&W, and there’s very little supplemental online material. The publishers obviously either want to produce a product that won’t stand up to heavy resale, or want to reduce manufacturing costs to near zero because of the digital piracy problems. Maybe both. Anyway, for the price, I would really like to have seen a book that made use of color graphs.
āThis is a fabulous book for learning derivatives–at least at the MBA level. It gives great examples and the explanations, for the most part, are clear. Before buying this book, I purchased “Fundamentals of Futures and Options Markets”–also by Hull. That book was a waste of money. I’m a fan, though, of this book.

āGreat condition.
āIt is a good derivative book, but the software is difficult to get and it is not so friendly as the old ones.
āExactly the product I wanted at the promised price. The vendor was great as well sending it to me in 48h
āI agree with JFM. Stay away from this book, all it does is confusing learners. This book is filled with unnecessary paraphrasing just to fill the pages. Disgraceful! It really is a waste of space and money and the paper quality is very poor.I bet this guy doesn’t even know the meaning of the equations he uses, just copied and pasted and give a vague explanation. No way he’d be able to derive even on of the equations he talks about, it’s a joke.I am actually a bit concerned as it seems to be quite popular for undergraduate studies. What a joke. I hope I will be able to sell it back.
āI purchased both digital and paper versions as I like to read it on my phone when commuting to and fro work. But please keep in mind that this is not usually kindle version of a book which may be quite disappointing, and itās mora like pdf with option to make notes.Book itself is a must have for everyone who wants to learn or just refresh trading/risk/instruments concepts
āThis book is brilliant, it defines and explains a lot of the ideas and concepts you learn in finance in a simple way.
āIt is worth purchasing the question bank as well.
āThe book is tailored to appeal more to Indian study. Hey, it’s still the legendary Options, Futures textbook by Hull. It’s thorough, thou I was expecting European or American biased book.
