Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐Amazing book covering results as recent as 2004 in this area. I really like the sets of exercises given at the end of each chapter; I have only attempted a few but there are some great puzzles in there. While the book is quite long, it also is covering a huge range of topics and so individual topics can sometimes feel compressed; I have only a modest background in number theory and abstract algebra and at times the arguments are difficult to follow. One negative review here complained about the binding being poor. Mine seems to be holding up fine, hopefully the publisher has addressed the problem.
⭐By far a very well put together materiel of prime numbers. All though it dose require a good amount of background in number theory and a small amount in abstract algebra. And does an okay job covering some cryptography. My one issue with is book is that it is very wordy. And does not always show the math behind it and try to explain everything in words instead of a theorem or proof. Do not pick this book up unless you know number theory well.
⭐terrific book lots of material to think about and also to try to compute worth the $
⭐Was really helpful for a course in computer security. You have details algorithms to play with prime number. It was a great buy to understand how security is made of calculus with Prime numbers.
Instead of using a mere definition, theorem, algorithm build-up style (as is common in math-oriented books), the authors take effort to first explain the basic philosophy of an aspect, and point out beforehand which particular part enables the advantage. This allows for reading more technical parts and immediately grasping their gist. It was my goto reference for my MPQS implementation.
