⭐「長編」の再説（長編の後に書かれているものが多いので全くの繰り返しではないように思いました）のようなエッセイが多いですが、面白く読みました。逆に、G.Sの長編を読んだことのない方には数々の長編の論題のダイジェスト版としてよいかもしれません。私はＧ.Sの長編単行本を手に入る限りすべて読んでからこのエッセイ集を読んでいるので経験ではありませんが。私はこのエッセイ集を読んで、長編等ではあまりうまく理解できなかったpanpsychismというアイディアがなんとなくわかったような気分になりました。neutral monismというか？ismというかそういうものに近いものらしいように読みました。それならまあそれほど珍奇な説でもないのでしょう。またnarativityやepisodicsというアイディアもなんとなくぼんやりと把握できたようにも思いました。
