User’s Reviews
Editorial Reviews: Review From the reviews:”Relativistic Nonlinear Electrodynamics is Volume 20 in the Springer Series in Optical Sciences … . is useful to research scientists and engineers who need up-to-date reference books. … I enjoyed this book. It is a valuable addition to Springer Series in Optical Sciences. We repeat once again that the author whose research experience in the field is both wide ranging and impressive, is exceptionally well placed to write this book every page of which reflects his painstaking efforts and a total dedication to the task.” (Current Engineering Practice, 2007) From the Back Cover This book covers a large class of fundamental investigations into Relativistic Nonlinear Electrodynamics. It explores the interaction between charged particles and strong laser fields, mainly concentrating on contemporary problems of x-ray lasers, new type small set-up high-energy accelerators of charged particles, as well as electron-positron pair production from super powerful laser fields of relativistic intensities. It will also discuss nonlinear phenomena of threshold nature that eliminate the concurrent inverse processes in the problems of Laser Accelerator and Free Electron Laser, thus creating new opportunities for solving these problems. About the Author Professor Avetissian has over 30 years of experience in the area of Nonlinear Electrodynamics of charged particles and strong laser fields. He is the author of the new nonlinear threshold phenomena in coherent radiation processes, which are potential mechanisms for Laser Accelerators and Free Electron Lasers, and has published more than 100 articles in the most prestigious international scientific journals. For his significant achievements he was awarded several National awards and the President of the Republic Prize for Outstanding Contribution to the Advancement of the Science. Read more
