⭐ James Hadley Chase never ceases to amaze me. Gripping read right to the end. Ingenious to want to commit murder of a crippled man with a wife of lose morals.

⭐ This is a different setting to the other books I have read from James Hadley Chase. The court room drama added to the fun and excitement. Maddox’s comment at the end “who says you can get away with murder” was the a punchline. The finest!

⭐ Not all of JHC’s books are very good but this is one of the very good ones. Some of the detective work is like Sherlock Holmes. Though I could guess how it would end, the twists and turns in between are unexpected.

⭐ This is a cracking story of greed and lust – a tremendous offering from one the best crime writers of all time. I have read all of JHC’s books and this has to rate as one of my favourites. Can’t recommend it highly enough

⭐ I have been an avid reader of Chase’s fast paced and slick novels. This one’s good but a bit too tame if you compare it with the other stories he has written.
