Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐There are many books about learning Spanish. Most are written for beginners. But once one has made one’s way through the Duolingo “tree” one needs something beyond what is commonly available. This is not a book for beginners. A newbie would get nothing out if it, while an intermediate level student will get a great deal. The main value of it is that it TALKS about Spanish, fills one in with things one needs to know, unlike most all the beginner books do, or Duolingo.
⭐This is a great companion if you’re learning Spanish using the Duolingo App. It provides you all the grammar rules and basics about Spanish so you can understand the language better – and then you can go to Duolingo and practice. I refer to it a lot and it has been very helpful to me. I bought the paperback version because that is my preferred format for books I use for study. I like to make notes and comments and mark pages.
⭐I’m trying to learn Spanish on my own. I bought Rosetta Stone and quickly realized I needed supplemental material to go along with it. This book is designed to be used chapter by chapter and not really meant to be read from front to back. Although I suppose you could if you wanted. So far I’ve used it as needed to explain the lessons in the software. It explains clear and concise where even I can understand why one word is preferred over another, etc. I’m not sure this will totally teach someone Spanish but it is a great reference book and I would recommend it highly for that purpose.
⭐For those needing to re-acquire most of the basics of Spanish grammar without an inordinate amount of exercises, this is a fine book. The examples are clear and the parallels to English grammar are exp;aimed and exploited strategically
⭐Helping my son pass time while hes in jail.
⭐I didn’t want to use a hugh book with overwhelming amount of material. This book provides info on all the key topics and explains each part of language very clearly. Highly recommend.
⭐I have been using Duolingo on line to study Spanish. They have a tendency to throw new things at you without much explanation of the rules of the Spanish language. I assume that other courses are the same. This book has been a real benefit to me. Maybe it should be renamed to “Spanish Essentials for Online Studies.”
⭐I gave this to my sister as a (requested) Christmas present. I leafed through it, and as a former teacher of French, it looked very useful to me. I think it would be best for a serious student, although I don’t have much knowledge of Spanish. My sister seemed very pleased with it.
⭐I am very pleased with this book. I really enjoyed reading it. It is a “grammar book” but it has a light, though not trivial, style. It is quite a “slim volume” (about 180 pages), which I think I was quite pleased about, but it is still very comprehensive, and at the price, it is excellent value for money. The explanations of how the language works are really clear and more complete than in other books I have read. In my opinion, it gets to the heart of the language and is suitable for all levels. I have been able to read the whole book quickly, but I will continue to use it as a handy, clear reference document. I have been trying to learn Spanish for sometime, but this book has moved my understanding and knowledge of the language forward very significantly. I really like the way the book is laid out. It is easy to spot what you are looking for when using it as a reference document. I particularly like the font styles and the clear tables, and the fact that the Spanish text is printed in bold, which makes it stand out and a pleasure to read. The example sentences illustrate the explanations very well, but I wish there had been more (sometimes only one or two example sentences to illustrate a grammar point, where I would have preferred three or four). The Amazon site says the book is “Latin American Spanish”, but the book itself does not mention that particular bias, and it seems to cover “European Spanish” comprehensively.
⭐Great item
⭐Spanish for Dummies oh boy I sure felt really dumb going through the chapters! LolIt wasn’t the book for me!
⭐Not what I was expecting Should tell you that basic Spanish is required first Didn’t know that until the book arrived and said so.
⭐I took a basic Spanish class for a trip to Mexico. This little book helped me a lot, especially with the verbs!
