Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I originally bought this book hoping it would help me with technical writing I do for an engineering firm. The author spent more time on the theory of writing than than on providing practical information about how to go about doing the writing. Lots of obvious stuff, like “write with your audience in mind.” But it is written with the idea of helping scientists and engineers to write better, so perhaps I’m not the best judge. However, other than a very few guidelines on writing specific types of papers/reports for the science and engineering fields (but not ones I was looking for), I think it’s a lot of reading for not so much information. If you’re a scientist/engineer who wants to be able to organize your thoughts on paper better, and get the hang of things like lists, placement of diagrams, etc., you may be better off with Technical Writing 101, also available on Amazon.

⭐Before starting my master thesis, the words “technical writing” used to have a fear effect on me. Then I found this book and it became easier. It’s is a simple, not exhaustive book. If you want something more complete is better to chose another one but this gave me the boost I needed to start my writing process.

⭐Very helpful

⭐Book is good, but the class requiring the book is terrible.

⭐It is geared to more technical which was great insight for me and helps me in my more technical writing activities and dealing with engineers and devlopers.

⭐This book is ideal for Engineers. It is very well structured gets the points across without wasting the reader’s time.In other words, Barry applied the principles he writes about when he wrote this book.

⭐Reuired for College…..

⭐Technical Writing for Engineers and Scientists is chalk full of theory and has little to no practical value. This book will not teach you how to properly format an engineering report. I wish I had my money back. It will not teach you about paragraph spacing, numbering, fonts, letter size, or how to place units into a paragraph as opposed to a chart.
