⭐Oppy is the best atheist philosopher in the world. This book serves as a good starting point for those that want to get into his larger work. While I do disagree with his conclusion I think he does present the best short but we’ll thought out case against God.I would recommend this book be read by anyone that wants to get the best argument for Naturalism.

⭐I’ve not read the whole book yet. Oppy seems to have an entirely new criticism of the cosmic fine tuning argument. I don’t understand his criticism completely, but it’s becoming clearer upon re-reading. He seems to be moving the fine tuning debate toward (and forward to, at long last) considerations of the putative universe creator’s motives for creating and tuning this universe. Dare the theist assign probabilities to what a perfect deity will or will not do? Let us wait patiently for the theist to unpack this theological jumble.

⭐I read it for what the title suggests, and it is honest about many subjects. I think Oppy does a better job at conveying the major points and offers more books on at the end of each section.I would have liked more of the ethics section in general and the conclusion of the book too, specifically on the ethics of belief and James work

⭐This book belies its rather arrogant title, when the author writes, “We should not be too confident that there is a compelling evidential argument in favour of Naturalism over Theism.” (Page 88) The book is rather challenging to understand thoroughly, so that reading and rereading some sections is advisable.
