User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I purchased and binge-read five of Paul K. Chappell’s books about peace literacy, and I thoroughly enjoyed them all. Note that Chappell repeats some of the same content in each of his books and so reading five books may not be necessary. I think I most enjoyed “The End of War”, for it contained the most number of war examples, and quotes from military people that somehow knew that war was insanity.

⭐Reading this refreshingly beautiful and hopeful book, I found simple, logical wisdom one might expect of a seasoned sage, instead of this 30 year old West Point graduate, who taught me that ideas are the key to ending war, but people must bring ideas to life, making them grow and mature into a social movement that can encircle the world and bring about global peace through truth and enlightenment.Army Captain Paul Chappell teaches us why it is our duty to arouse the “moral fury” of the American people–“a population that has become apathetic to the suffering of our people, the well-being of our global human family, and the health of our planet”–to get the train of justice steamed up and rolling to put an end to war on a global scale by transforming ideas into peaceful but persistent action.Paul shows us how to look through the “heart’s eye” to explore our humanity and, through questioning the myths about what it means to be human, arrive at new, enlightened and loving ways to change our world and bring peace at long last. This book is one to savor and study and think about every day. I keep Paul’s book by my bedside to use as a guide in my activism and in my day to day attitude towards life. Paul makes it clear that…”Because war threatens our survival and many people have lost their faith in humanity, our world needs warriors for peace now more than ever.” Paul presents proof of why Peace is not only possible, but necessary for the survival of life in the 21st CenturyThank you, Paul, for renewing my faith in the importance of my activism for peace and social justice and showing me that the survival of humanity and our planet depends on our winning this important fight. As a “soldier for peace”, I will never accept defeat! The survival of mankind depends on it!

⭐This follow-up book to Captain Chappell’s first book, “Will War Ever End”,

⭐gives us the answers we all have so deeply desired for ending the mass murder and maiming, massive misery and destruction, huge waste of brilliant scientists and manufacturing capabilities engaged in creating bigger and better ways to kill our fellow human beings, and the tremendous waste of resources spent on deadly weapons and military invasions of countries, called “WAR”.This book not only tells us again, that such horrible violence is contrary to our nature as human beings. The author shows us historical proof that this is indeed true, and how we, the people, can change the tendency of using war by political leaders, as a means to achieving “peace” or the “liberation” of people. Regardless of the motivations or intentions of those few who take us into war, it is clear that the majority of people in our shared world, truly desire peaceful, creative cooperation among themselves and cannot continue allowing the terribly destructive approach of war for “solving” our problems. In this new book, “The End of War”, Captain Chappell shows us how we can and must, make these important changes for co-creating a world free of the insanity of war. He shares the results of his years of studying the possibility for such an ambitious project, realizing that not all violence will be eliminated from the world, but war,the biggest manifestation of fearful, prejudiced, greedy, thinking, can be eliminated. What could be more important to our future and the future of generations to come? I highly recommend this guideline for empowering us to do away with war. It is good to finally know with certainty that constant war is NOT INEVITABLE!

⭐If you believe peace is possible; but, don’t know how we might get there, this book will open your mind to possibilities. It will provide insight into causes of conflict personally, locally, and internationally.Learning how to maintain peaceful relationships with others is a great way to help us all maintain peaceful relationships with each other.Discover the problems fear creates for your and others. And more… Lots more….It’s a great read. It’s a short book with a wealth of insight. I read the one he wrote before this as well. There are more in the series. Start anywhere. Just start & Enjoy.

⭐The End of War was written by an amazing young man in his 20s, who grew up in a military family & followed their path to West Point. While there, he discovered that the same strategies he was being taught to wage war, were the same strategies that could be used to wage peace. The formula was the same, but the outcome could save our world. He walks you through the questions he asks himself to arrive at this insight – questions we should all be asking ourselves. It’s a book of hope to all of us who know that war never brings peace & never will.

⭐This book is written by a soldier who is trained in battle and, as most soldiers do, has deeply considered the wisdom of war to resolve conflict. It is an intelligent examination of how towage peace, not as an idealistic fantasy, but as a long-term, realistic plan. Worth reading for anyone who sees the futility of war, which begets war, which begets war and very wounded warriors.

⭐Would have liked seeing many more concrete examples of successful “peace making” . What was offered were broad principles, not very helpful.

⭐President Eisenhower’s fairwell address is about the military-industrial complex wasting the money needed for America’s domestic needs. “JFK and the unspeakable” is about the enemies of peace{CIA & the military-industrial complex} killing JFK the peacemaker. “The end of War” is the dream of JFK & Eisenhower. Blessed are the peacemakers for they are the children of God.
