He was the General Editor of the Coptic Gnostic Library (Brill, 1975-1996), The Nag Hammadi Library in English (revised most recently in 2007 with Dr. Marvin Meyer as editor) and he served as the Permanent Secretary for UNESCO’s International Committee for the Nag Hammadi Codices.
