⭐ I loved the story line, it was totally unique. I enjoyed the story immensely and would have given it 5 stars but the ending totally sucked! I despise an ending that doesn’t give the reader closure. I think he missed the mark with this ending and thus the book was a disappointment to me.

⭐ THE PLAN: Bring in a ringer to replace the First Lady. Russia and America are in a diplomatic contest to control a small republic in central Africa. The successor will control a wealth of uranium. The winner will also be in a position to influence the political future of the surrounding tiny countries.During an International Women`s Conference in Moscow, the First Lady is abducted and held in a luxurious, but secluded, apartment within the Kremlin. Held prisoner, Billie Bradford must use her wits to figure out the reason for her abduction and find a way to escape and thwart their Communist plans.Vera has spent three years undergoing intense training, reconstruction surgery, and dedication to the most minute detail in order to successfully become the First Lady of the United States. Her assignment is to seduce the President and learn the secret that will give the USSR the edge to win control over Africa and the vast stores of uranium.The story will captivate you, enthralled you, deprive you of sleep and a social life up to the final page. ⭐ One of my book clubs selection that I wasn’t especially thrilled about but turned out to be a creative and interesting premise that was an easy read and kept me going all the way to the end. I recommend this book and look forward to discussing with my group!

⭐ I adore Irvin Wallace’s books! I have read and re-read The Second Lady so many times – each time I read the ending I am still confused….it is so baffling and I am always left wondering. It is simply put – BRILLIANT and exciting too. An amazing thought – replacing one person with another without anybody noticing. Quite scary in a way! They do say we all have a double somewhere – I wonder where mine is? The book is well written (as are all his books), the storyline moves at a fast pace and is pure escapism of the most pleasant kind. Try not to analyse it and dissect for plausibility – just enjoy a good story which – you never know – could be true.

⭐ I got this book because I thought that the premise, while sounding completely outrageous and unbelievable, was an excellent one. Unfortunately, I don’t think that this book was well written – it was rather choppy a few times, and really some of the events were too out there to make it believable. I will probably not buy another book by this author.Again, it sounds like a great story and I will say I LOVED the way it ended. It actually is not how I normally like endings, but it really fit this one.If you get this book for $2 or less then it is worth it, but I would not pay full price for this one. Sorry for the not positive review.

⭐ From the mind of the great Irving Wallace comes this unusual story line. And once you get into it, it’s just plain fun! While you realize that chances are something like this would never happen, still you turn the pages quickly so as to figure out how this could possibly end.And as always, Wallace creates his characters so well, you feel as though you known them.This is not a literary work of art, yet I would recommend it to readers who like light reading.

⭐ I really enjoyed this book and admire Mr. Wallace’s imagination on coming up with plot. I would of given it 5 stars if there was not so many F-words. They did not add anything to this book.

⭐ It seemed to far out, for both women to completely agree to become each other. Just can’t believe it.The ending was even worse.

⭐ Another blockbuster by this author. Fast paced and keeps you on the edge wondering if the plot is going to work or not. Then a mystery as to how its going to end. Of course, at the end you DON’T know what the final outcome is. One of those books you don’t want to put down because you’re wondering what’s going to happen next. Really enjoyed this one and even though it leaves you wondering at the end it was an appropriate way to conclude the book.

⭐ Read it the first time in high school, about 50 years ago. Just read it again and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. Interesting that many of the world’s issues haven’t changed in 50 years!
