Of particular importance is Hexham’s decision to explore African religions, which have frequently been absent from major religion texts. He surveys these in addition to varieties of Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

⭐Honestly, most of the book and video series I did not like until the chapters on Islam. But, the book is BY FAR the best information on the founding, history, beliefs, and current state of Islam. It is not until this chapter that you understand the presentation of the other chapters. It really gets to the depth of belief and conviction in each religion presented.

⭐This is an outstanding resource for anyone wanting to understand the basics and essentials of major world religions. It is well organized, clear, concise and well-illustrated. This is a timeless volume that can be used for research, study or gaining an encyclopedic knowledge of the major faiths that have shaped our world. Hexham has done everyone interested in the subject a great service by authoring this volume. I can heartily recommend this work to anyone interested in such material.

⭐Using this book for college, this is actually a very great boo, I have enjoyed it thoroughly, anyone who wants to learn about religion can’t go wrong getting this book.

⭐I’m a lifetime student, but I appreciated this book because it was so very readable. I think sometimes people shy away from ‘reading’ books like this because they are way too complicated, technical and quite frankly boring! This book was loaded with great information and presented in a very clear and interesting format. Recommend to any level of scholar who is just looking for great insights on world religions.

⭐This was a required textbook for one of my World Religions classes at Regent University. It was excellent because the publisher has textPlus option on their website (Zondervan). There are videos for each chapter by the Author. There are Q&A’s, quizes and flipcards. I loved it. It helped me tremendously.

⭐I got the book on time and in good conditions. A non-biast view on religions. Very helpful to be knowledgeable of the background and respectful of everyone we meet.
