Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐I know it says really not te read these books cover to cover but just use as a reference but I can do both, I think- lol! Loved this title, along with the many other For Dummies Books I have read, am reading, etc. this one goes right along with my Camping for Dummies and Fishing For Dummies, and I may hav to check out Fly Fishing for Dummies also. I believe I saw that title as well!

⭐This book is great. This is the second general survival book I have read. The 1st was the “SAS Survival Handbook”. I would have to say this book may be even better than the SAS book. And I would say for sure it is more enjoyable to read. The author writes in a very light hearted manner but still, of course, implies the seriousness of all the concepts. The material is up to date and and very practical. Of course with almost any survival books there are some common sense aspects. But the author knows this an doesn’t waste time explaining common sense info in depth and when not needed. The info in the book is very useful and practical and it has plenty of not so common knowledge aspects of wilderness survival. This is a must have for anyone who wants to educate themselves about surviving out there in the wild.

⭐The title is a little misleading. This is a book that you will want to have in your ruck on any trip. As we all know, no one sets out to be in a survival situation, and they are NO fun. This book has all of the general necessities that a person would use to survive in almost every type of climate. It is now a permanent fixture in my ruck. The seller shipped right away and I got the book almost immediately. His price was more than fair, and he did just as he said he would. Use him, and you will be happy with your purchase and his service.

⭐Over all basic knowledge of what everyone who wants to camp or hike should know. Plus more it’s a great read to brush up or learn the basics.

⭐Great book for all around survival. It’s not location specific but it will do for the Unites States but if you are looking for Asian Jungle survival tips you need to purchase another book. It’s a quality book with many different tips and ideas, even tips for the seasoned survivalist. If you are planning a week trip or longer, if you are responsible for others like children or older adults, or you are a survival enthusiast – this is a great book. Great gift for those you know that enjoy hiking or backpacking. Or the outdoors in general.

⭐As a 60-year-old female urbanite, “Wilderness Survival for Dummies” gave me far more confidence than I expected. The authors give you the sense that, just because you’re lost or need assistance doesn’t make you a dummy. They help you get past your initial emotional responses; assess your situation; work toward productive decisions; and, apply survival techniques. Ironically, those steps are really useful in everyday life, particularly in leadership. We sometimes just move too fast to apply them correctly and in the right order.Given recent tragedies, I would highly recommend this manual to both adults and teenagers, for both urban and wilderness environments. It will help you keep a cool head and increase your capabilities and resourcefulness. As always, the information in the “Dummies” books is so well organized, you can read all or a portion of it and keep the rest for reference as needed. I don’t need to become a rocket scientist, but want a general understanding or working knowledge of so many subjects.

⭐Looks to be quite helpful. I will post an update when I get a chance to study it further.

⭐This is just the survival book I have been looking for. It is modern and thorough with up to date ideas, advice and instructions. I am an Eagle Scout and fan of wilderness survival. I have looked over several other survival books, but they always seemed to be lacking something. This covers all the bases and more. The writing is honest, sincere and easy to read. I just wish there were more pictures and illustrations, that would make it even more dummy proof. Regardless, I want a copy for my car, my home and my 72-hour emergency kit.

⭐A lot of this books survival stuff seems to concentrate only on mainland US – particularly radio and rescue.I am quite experienced in this field, so, perhaps I’m being a bit too critical – so bear that in mind. However it’s still worth keeping because there is plenty of info in there that some of the ‘fashionable’ writers – don’t include. On reflection, I should have bought this second-hand as I reckon that the price would be closer to the real value. If you’re buying this as a present, don let my review put you off – if the person you’re buying for is a novice, because the book is set out quite well and does do what it says. The tips are pretty good, but as the review title says, I don’t live in America! If it was more ‘world-wide and included more stuff that was relevant to Europeans I’d have given 4.

⭐If you are just starting off with your survival collection or what I need to put in my survival kit questions etc. Then this a great book to buy! I spent some money and time going through different books and most of them cover of course similar topics. However most of them are fairly specific and then to deep dive into more specialist areas, e.g. surviving in deserts etc. This book offers you a great basic knowledge package allowing you, if needed, to go for specific litarature to compliment. Some of the key fundamentals that you will find here covered are orientation, your basic survival kit, tools and techniques for wildneress survival.A great plus for this book is that unlike some other books that give you lots of examples and stories but never really tell you exactly what you need to get and why, here they do.The one thing you might want to consider is, in the spirit of survival, a hardcopy in addition to the e-book version could be a good idea..you never know when the power goes out 🙂

⭐Some really great tips in here that seem to have been tested out by the authors personally!some daft things too as its very american bias.Nicely divided into sensible chapters so you can skip the bits that dont interest you.some really detailed pictures.overall I really enjoyed this book as a general read… will also be useful as a goto book….

    ⭐A

⭐now i’m not a fan of the dummies books and his is the first one I have ever bought of them but I have to say this is a good book a lot of knowledge and tips etc …now if your unsure about getting this book look at the reviews cause that’s what I did and i’m glad I got this book
