Reviews from Amazon users, collected at the time the book is getting published on UniedVRG. It can be related to shiping or paper quality instead of the book content:
⭐ This book is old school and when I say old I mean outdated. It should be taken off the shelves or at the very least, give away what copies that are left. This book has been updated but by different author’s and a slight difference in the title. The price was way too high. Yes it was my choice to buy it but there should be a caveat * that describes its outdated and in many cases unusable material. Shipping from the “Book Depository” was another disappointment. First order according to my tracking number was delivered elsewhere then a correction in the shippment. the book also looked used. Very dissatisfied with the book, price and sellers!
⭐ This book is good for someone who really has no idea about YouTube and its history and wants some basic information. However, it was published in 2007 and the information on the current version of YouTube is non existent.Whereas it does have information as to what types of accounts are available on YT and the guidelines of what is acceptable and what is not.But when I say the information needs updating a few examples: the book still mentions the 1 to 5 star rating system of videos which has been changed long ago to ‘thumbs up or down’ and there is an entire chapter on how to post You Tube videos to MySpace and no mention AT ALL of Facebook anywhere. Also there is no information regarding the YouTube partnership program and all the screen capture pics are from the old version of You Tube. The books info only barely reflects the You Tube of today, it looks like the You Tube of 2007.Really there are very few people who would benefit from a book like this with such outdated material. Its time for the authors to do a revised edition.
⭐ I don’t have this book/guide anymore. It was stolen from me at a Veterans Shelter within a month after I got it! But, I do well remember that although it wasn’t highly current, it was accurate and an excellent guide. I highly recommend it. And I hope to get it again later.
⭐ I had a few specific problems I wanted to solve when I got this book, but when it arrived, I found that the YouTube screens referenced in the book were either changed (hints no longer applied) or were gone entirely. For instance, the boo would tell me to go to a specific page and click on a specific tab or button, but that tab or button was simply nowhere to be found on the page. It seems that YouTube is evolving so fast that major changes had occurred since the book was written and, at least for the things I was interested in learning, it was mostly useless.
⭐ Wish I had ordered this months ago! Me an YouTube….WE HAVE ISSUES. Now hopefully, we won’t! I find their format to be extremely challenging as my brain is just not geared for computers! Considering they are not much older than me and were not available for general public use until I was well into my 30’s it’s no wonder. So this should help tremendously.
⭐ Written only a couple years ago means a lot has changed in this fast paced online world as well as the Tubesphere. A good read but don’t forget that YouTube has gone through a full face lift since the writing of this book as well as ongoing major changes. Most important is that YT changes parameters on a regular basis. So this is no “Rosetta Stone” but interesting and good info to the newbie YouTuber. Better one to read IMHO is “YouTube, Climbing the charts”
⭐ overall a pretty helpful guide for anyone looking to understand and/or start using YouTube. i got it to try and learn software specifics, uploading techniques, and just overall guidance to having a Youtube channel. the stuff that i personally found unnecessary was the sections like, “what is YouTube?” and things like that. also, one of my bigger complaints was that i believe it was published in 2008 which may deem some of the information obsolete. but after the few minor setbacks it wasn’t bad.
⭐ This book is great. It is helping me get my YouTube channel up and running. It covers the basics and is very user-friendly.
⭐ Things on Youtube have changed a lot since this book was written. Its illustrations don’t match the revised look of Youtube, and the data entry points are no longer relevant. I don’t understand why this book is still being sold. It was a complete waste of money.
⭐ Avoid letting the title of this book fool you. This is a very useful book for the beginner and for the person who is interested in making the most out of the YouTube experience. It is filled with a lot of valuable insight and is put in a format that is quite easy to follow. In my opinion, this can easily be a good reference book for both the beginner and for the far more advanced user of YouTube.
