Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐Anyone who is involved in “SL”, this is a great book to have on hand.It gives you a better understanding and can aid you with what challenges you may face. One of the great features of this book, you can juup to whatever section you are interestesd in, issues you face and need help improving your Second Life skills. If you are a “Newb” (newbie),or desire to enhance your activities and interaction with others…this is a book to help you through step by step.
⭐Dated info, but helps to figure out where things came from. I picked it up very cheap, so it was worth it.
⭐Second Life for Dummies was more than I expected!!…It means a great help for all those who begin in this fantastic world, and for those people who already belong to the Residents. ⭐very satisfied with product and all phases of transaction will most certainly shop again !
⭐This book is a great introduction to Second Life for those who are brand new to the virtual world. The directions are very easy to follow and the work is presented in an user friendly format. It would not be recommended for those already familiar with Second Life and who are looking for being able to do more advanced capabilities like that required for educators.
⭐Great info thanks!
⭐Helpfull
⭐:)
⭐If you want a book that guides you through every aspect of SL then this is the one for you!I had been using SL for 10 months when I bought this book so already had the basics down but wanted to know more about starting a business on SL and I learned so much in just 10 minutes of reading the chapter where building is explained. Something which seemed so advanced and difficult is now a piece of cake and quite a lot of fun too! I am still a way off building my own mansion and furnishing it with cool items but what I have now is a start.Whatever your worry or difficulty is about SL this book can answer it and take you past it in quick step by step easy to follow information. One word of warning I would give you is to be aware that one some viewers use different words than used for some features in this book. The words that you are looking for on viewer are likely to be the synonyms of the words in the book. I can only assume that this is because SL has changed a little bit from when the book was written. However this does in no way make this book irrelevant to SL today!
⭐In common with all the dummies books, this is really simple and easy to either work your way through, or dip in and out of. It’s not for those who want to know the more advanced side of 2nd Life but for anyone looking for an easy way in and can’t be bothered to work your way through the help/orientation on 2nd Life itself it’s a reasonable introduction. You could probably find everything in this book on the 2nd Life help systems, but if you prefer to work your way through a book and have a handy guide to dip into without having to interrupt your explorations, this is a good start…
⭐As a recent new resident on Second Life, I wanted a book that would help me get to grips with the basics – this book does exactly that, plus some (even suggests ways of making extra Lindens, or where to find free stuff in-world). As with all the ‘Dummies’ titles, everything is explained in simple language, and with a degree of whit.
⭐Reasonably good – but seemed a bit disorganised in layout. Not as good as the Official Guide.
⭐Great for a beginer
