Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐I bought a home with a pool table, and I soon realized that I was/am a poor pool player. So, I bought Pool and Billiards For Dummies. The short story is that my game was improved by reading this concise book. Unfortunately, my game hasn’t improved as much as I’d have liked. If it had, I would have added another star to my review. Seriously, while the book was very informative about such things as stance, grip, stroke, and shape, it didn’t quite explain well enough, at least to me, just exactly how to know where to aim the cue ball so that the proper spot on the target ball is struck; that part was a bit confusing. But, all in all, a great book for anyone who wishes to improve their game.
⭐I am presently a novice at pool, but want to improve and get better. This book is a good introductory book to assist someone like me.
⭐I picked up pool when I retired and have been playing for about two years. In an effort to improve, I have purchased several books that were recommended by more experienced pool players. In each of them, I reached a level of frustration quickly because they were written by professionals who had long ago forgotten how difficult it is to build billiard skills. Finally, I ordered Nicholas Leider’s book and have not regretted it. Even with two years experience, I ended up reading the entire book, instead of skipping earlier chapters. I have read the book, practiced what it teaches and am applying what I’ve learned when playing. Within a month, I could see a difference in my play because I’ve begun to have a chance against players I formerly used to loose to.I recommend this book to anyone who is a beginner or for someone, like myself, who has some experience but has difficulty in putting it all together. This book is direct, to the point but easy to understand and follow. I only wish I had purchased this book two years ago.
⭐Good book. My top five pool books: The Advanced Pro Book (for very skilled players), Play Your Best Pool, Mosconi’s Pocket Billiards, Aiming Pool Shots, and Precision Pool.
⭐Simple with excellent teaching points as well as excercises.
⭐great book
⭐I liked this a lot. I am trying to relearn what I knew many years ago. After reading this I realize that my “skills” back then were luck, not knowledge. I would recommend this for beginners and intermediates.
⭐Refresher book for me – haven’t played in a long time. Well written and well worth it.
⭐a hands on guide that covers everything you need to know. from the basics-stance,stroke.to controlling the cue-ball-making shots. different games you can play, practice techniques, trick shots even setting up your own poolroom. Nicholas Leider has put it altogether-aterrific book. All fans of pool-a must buy,
⭐After reading the book and trying out the steps my pool game has improved. Don’t expect overnight to turn into a master it takes time and effort with a lot of practise.
⭐Very useful book, covers all the basics, plus how side and screw affect the line of any and all shots. Would highly recommend for a beginner and those who want to improve their match play.
⭐Brilliant book for beginners, helps you out from basics to advanced, there’s something for everyone brilliantly written very informative
⭐Excellent product, good price, prompt delivery. Thanks
