You’ll get answers to your most important questions, including:Which size Poodle is best for me? Which color? How do I know if a Poodle breeder is reputable? What are the pros and cons of shelters and rescue groups? What do I look for in choosing a healthy Poodle? How can I Poodle-proof my home and yard? What’s the best way to introduce my Poodle to kids and other pets? How often does my Poodle need grooming? No matter which size, color, or gender you own, Poodles are not a “wash ‘n’ wear” breed. Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:
⭐I found this book to be very informative! I bought lots of other books and when I sat down to read this found it to be a simple. compilation of the rest ….easy….
⭐I read a similar review that I am about to write and I bought it anyway. This book is so general and does NOT address Poodles. The author has no experience with poodles as she states in the forward. As a new dog owner, I want to learn about dog training but also specifically about standard poodles. This book gave me neither of any quality.
⭐Like most of the “…For Dummies ” series, this book answers all the questions and addresses all the issues a poodle owner would have and does so in a logical, concise and humorous fashion. From the attractive color pictures of the various kinds and colors of poodles to the clever cartoons and illustrations, the book provided information in an easy to understand format . The icons used to hi-lite salient portions of each section are very useful, especially when re-reading a section for reinforced understanding. While there is a certain vague familiarity with some of the prose (Where have I read that before??), I found the book virtually indispensible to me in acquiring knowledge about how my new family member thinks , acts and needs. For me, it is a must- have addition to my dog library.
⭐This book has almost nothing poodle specific. Big waste of money.
⭐Good intro. We are thinking about getting a poodle and this gave us the big picture view. Wish it spent more time on training and less on dog shows and alternative medicine.
⭐Very helpful! Easy to read with good tips. My toy poodle is 17 weeks old and sleeps all night in his crate, he is trained and near completely housebroken! He follows basic commands including: come, sit, and stay.Without this book I would have been lost. This is my first puppy and thanks to this book it made the training so easy that I just got my second puppy after 3 months of having our toy poodle.
⭐I bought this book to help with my first dog in 45 years. I do refer to it on occasion. If you have a purebred dog, it might be very helpful, particularly if you are considering showing your poodle. The book covers adoption as a puppy to end of life issues. Pretty comprehensive. My dog is mixed breed, how much is poodle is questionable. For me, a general book on understanding dogs minds & actions would have been more helpful.
⭐shipping was fast!
⭐Am only halfway through the book so there may be more interesting & informative chapters still to read. It hasnt yet told me much background regarding the breed.
⭐Book condition was good but it is an american version and I found it a bit annoying
⭐This was a present for my cousin – she loved it and said it was full of practical down to earth advice.
⭐I was looking for something very specifically about poodles, as I already own a couple of books about dog care and training. Unfortunately lots of the info in this book is quite general (how to buy a puppy etc), apart from the grooming section. Also very American in it’s focus.
⭐A wonderful explanatory guide for anyone who is interested in this marvellous breed. Great advice on every aspect of the breed.
