⭐I approached this very short work from a bit of a different perspective than many. I purchased the Nicholas Flamel books for my son who has enjoyed them immensely, and I was very happy to have run across this short to buy for him (he has recently started using my Kindle for reading so this works out). I have been planning on reading the series too, but haven’t yet, but I decided to give this a try to see how it is as a stand alone and how I like the author’s style myself.In brief, I thought it was great! Like many have mentioned it’s short as you could probably imagine by the file size and the price (basically it’s a little over 200 locations in Kindle-speak, and as this is an eBook only so far, those reading should have an idea just how short that is). Despite such a short format the story really worked well. Enough background information was given for the context, yet enough tantalizing bits were left to engage the curiosity. The descriptions were fantastic and I was left quite breathless at the end. I, like another reviewer did, call it ‘too short’. But in my case this is only in the sense, of ‘I really liked this and want more!’.Of course, now I have bumped this series WAY up on my To Be Read pile…which is quite a testament to the quality of the short story presented.Highly Recommended (and I imagine those who have read the balance of the series will actually call this A Must Read).JTG

⭐The Death of Joan of Arc is short, good, and cheap.The first thing you have to understand about this short story is that it is short. I know you think you know what I’m saying, and consider me an idiot for having to reiterate this, but there is no other way to describe it in full. The story is 12 pages long and close to a quarter of it is used to set up the story and state the perspective it’s based on.That said this kindle only short story is a decent buy for fans of Michael Scott’s Nicholas Flamel Series at $0.89 a copy. The story itself will mean nothing to readers who have not read the series, but for fans who have read the series, this will be a fun opportunity to enjoy watching Scathach and Joan in action.All in all the Death of Joan of Arc is a short cheap reminder for fans of the next Nicholas Flamel book. While I felt this story could have been better, I would certainly read a book of short stories in the Flamel series, but until then I’ll wait for the next book in the series.[…]

⭐This is a great short story for anyone who has read Michael Scotts the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel. I really liked how the story was told from the perspective of an archer who secretly didn’t want Joan to be executed. It was a great story but is wish it was longer.One thing I think would make this story better (and longer) is if the perspective switched over to Scatty for the rest of the story because in one of the TSOTINF books, Scatty mentions putting her vampire blood into Joan because of the injury that William gave her while they were escaping. All in all, I don’t think Scott finished the story.

⭐As a reader of the Nicholas Flamel books by Michael Scott, this was a good backstory to everyone’s favorite French warrior woman and her rescue according to the fantasy series. Though it never happened, this offered a tantalizing story that brings her to the present day. If you’re interested in reading more about Michael Scott, this could be it.

⭐No more than a ten or fifteen minute read, this ebook short story is part of Michael Scott’s series, The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel. William of York, approaching the end of a long life, has decided to tell the true story of an event that history has recorded rather differently, the death of Joan of Arc. An English archer assigned to guard the gates of Rouen at the time of Joan’s execution via burning at the stake, William was a stunned eyewitness to what actually occurred – Joan’s rescue from the burning pyre by Scathach the Shadow, also known as the Warrior Maid, the Kingmaker and the Demonslayer. Both Joan and Scathach are major characters in Mr. Scott’s series and, while you won’t miss anything of importance by not reading this story, it’s quick, it’s fun and it costs less than a buck, so why would you miss it?

⭐If you’ve read the series, you’re familiar with Joan of Arc and the idea that she is immortal and cannot die. That threw me off a bit with the title. We learned in one story that Scathach had saved Joan of Arc back in the day: this is THAT story.Okay, it was really short, but it was a whole dollar! And then my favorite character, Scatty, appeared in this story, so that made it even better. Definitely for fans of the series (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel), this is a short story that is not to be missed.

⭐A great interesting addition to the series. Michael Scott never fails to disappoint but id would have loved a entire novelization of the story of joan of arc. A prequel to the series. I wish scot would experiment on the idea. Write about the advantures of joan and scatty

⭐Beautifully written like all his works but seriously? It was not even half a chapter. Barely a few pages of a book if it was a physical copy. If his other side stories are this short, they might aswell sell them in as a collection because although it was 99p i did not expect it to take me 3 minutes to read.No time to even enjoy it

⭐I enjoyed this action packed tale. I find Michael Scotts work among the very best and his re-telling of Irish folklore equally exciting.

⭐Yes well written but i was expecting a full story not a 20pages story.

⭐it may be short but this i definetly what i would call a good read! thrilling with a nice plunge into action. and if you love reading about scathach or rescues then you will love this! so thrilling , i was nearly sick (metaphoricaly of course!) oh and please pardon my grammer and punctuation.

⭐If you were expecting a full length book like me, you will be disappointed, this ‘book’ is hardly a chapter. The writing is of the usual high standard but I was hoping for a lot more detail into the Death of Joan of Arc.
