Description

Among the Valdier, twin dragons are feared above all others. Within a prison camp on a mining asteroid, Melina has disguised her gender for years….

Long ago, Cree and Calo witnessed the catastrophic end of the only other twin dragon-shifters in existence, and they swore they would never let themselves go that far down the path of madness. Since then, they have earned the Dragon Lords’ trust, but the infamous insanity that besieged the first twin dragons is now beginning to take over their senses, just as all the Dragon Lords have found their true mates.

After so long without a mate of their own, Cree and Calo’s dragons are pushing them to do something that would surround them with devastating death and a bitterly waged war. There has never been a woman who can handle a lifetime with two dragon-shifters, and they don’t expect that to change now when they desperately need a partner to save their sanity.

Hope can spring from unexpected places however, and the rescue of an old man and his suspiciously mysterious grandson from an abandoned mining asteroid launches the twins into a confused and conflicted journey to a distant planet called Earth at the behest of their…true mate.

For this beauty in disguise, life has certainly not been easy, and her journey is just beginning….

Internationally acclaimed S.E. Smith presents a new action-packed story full of adventure and romance. Brimming with her signature humor, vivid scenes, and beloved characters, this book is sure to be another fan favorite!

Part of her wanted to shout out YES, PLEASE TALK ALL YOU WANT, while the rational part of her knew that it would be too dangerous. Knowing she didn’t have any other choice, she lowered her head and shook it.”Please,” he pleaded. “I promise not to come closer… well, for now. Can you understand me?”Melina peeked up at him again as he held his hand out. His face was tight with tension. The slight sound of desperation in his voice confused her. He sounded like he really wanted to talk with her.The flash of another image in her mind made her start. The image of a topaz and black dragon snapping and straining made her dizzy for a moment. Raising a hand to her head, she closed her eyes and touched her temple.”What is it? Are you ill?” Calo asked anxiously.Melina’s eyes opened at the same time as her grandfather stepped out of the office area. She could tell her Gramps was shocked to see Calo standing there. He was probably even more stunned to see that she was as well. “What the hell are you doing in here?” Cal demanded.

⭐ I loved reading S.E. Smiths other books in this series, and gave most of those books 5 stars. Unfortunately, this book for me was a little boring in places, and a little disappointing in others. The book has some spelling, and misused words in it. Very unusual for this author. Her books are usually more polished.****************************************SPOILER ALERT***************************************l loved the main characters…Cree, Calo, and Melina……I could feel the twin dragons hopelessness, fear, and despair that they would never find their true mate. I felt Melina’s sorrow over loosing her gandfather…..so much so I actually cried. The storyline was great, as were the descriptions of the main characters. Melina throwing dung at the twins when they got to close, was absolutely hilarious…..However, this book, to me, felt choppy in places, and rushed in others. The flow was off. For example: around 40% of the book was of the twins trying to get close to Melina, and Melina dressed up, and acting like a deranged boy. For me, after awhile it got boring. I kept saying to myself, “Come on, get on with it”. Also, when they got to earth, after Melina changed into her dragon in the cop shop, the next day or so she tells the brothers to leave….what? She actually thought to stay on earth as a dragon? The twins never explained to her, and she never really asked what being their mate entailed. For them to leave her would have been a death sentence for all of them. You would think the twins would mention that, don’t you think? Then the night of the dinner, we know they are going, then bam! It’s the next day, and Melina is waking up. It was like the dinner scene was cut out of the book. There are other instances in the book where the book didn’t flow, but I think I have given enough secrets away. Anyway, only about 20% or so, of the book was dedicated to what happened on the twins planet, Valdier. I feel the author missed an opportunity to turn this so, so book into something spectacular.

⭐ This was probably the worst book by this author. Waste of 3.00. Majority of book was rehash of content from other books in series. I love the Valdier series and this author, but seriously if she is going to ask full book price give us a new book in the series 2/3 of this was duplicate info from earlier books. In my opinion, the new content was in line with the “For the love of Tia” novella which was free for the longest time. I read the story and enjoyed that she wrote the Twins and Melina’s story, but I don’t feel she took the time to flesh out the story as much as should/could have been. Maybe spending too much time on her other series trying to get them under way. The Magic New Mexico series is following in the Valdier series footsteps, the first book was great had a well thought out story and multiple interesting characters. The Spirit pass series so far has been pretty well done, so is Cosmo’s Gateway. The Alliance series, while I have enjoyed the books are not as well fleshed out or edited as some her other series.

⭐ This is Calo , Cree and Mel’s ( Melina ) story . Mel and her grandfather were taken years ago by space traders and are now are stuck on a world that they used to work but everyone but them are gone and they are running out of supplies . Calo , Cree and Creon land on the plant hoping to find there friend but instead find these two and nope it is does not go well for them !! For a while poor Calo and Cree are not sure what is going on since they both are attracted to the male Mel . Melina gives them such a hard time that but their symbiots run and try to stay with Mel so they know that “he” is their mate . After landing on Earth they run into even more trouble ! I swear I love the way that S E Smith’s mind works !! This is story and series is so well written and strongly recommended to all !

⭐ I surprised every time I read a book by this author. You start out with Cree and Calo watching a pair of older twins get executed due to being crazy. They both vow to not get like that. Then you move to the mines where Melina and her grandfather get rescued. This part is priesthood. The three slowly get to know each other and realize they are made for each other. Then the story moves back to earth. You think the story should end here but it doesn’t. They move back to Cree and Calo’s home planet. That’s where a disaster happens. Don’t worry it has a HEA.

⭐ Melina, Calo, and Cree are three wounded and scarred people thrown together by chance. Melina and her grandfather were on earth when they were kidnapped by slave traders and sold to a mining colony. For four years Melina had to hide the fact that she was a female from the owners of the mines and the other prisoners. Things went from bad to worse when the mine owners abandoned the mine and left the prisoners to die. Melina and her grandfather were survivors left in the mine. Then rescue came from the stars.Cree and Calo are the twin dragons from valdier. They are the most feared and fiercest warriors of all valdier. But there’s a dark side to being twin dragons. They are rare and the most dangerous. They need a mate that can help them keep the madness at bay, a mate that can love them both. Calo and Cree saw what happened to the previous twin dragons and swore that they would die in battle or take their own lives than to let the madness consume them.Calo and Cree are apart of the rescue party sent to the mine when they come across Melina and her grandfather. Their dragons sense their mate is near and it’s driving the twins crazy. Calo and Cree think their mate is a boy (not a beautiful woman in disguise. Talk about brain dead). Is Melina strong enough to love love the dragons ? Can Calo and Cree control their macho man attitudes or will a small dynamo named Melina knock them on their butts ?

⭐ I have been waiting fir this book since the end of Dragon Lords of Validier book 6. My expectations were high since you knew Melina had suffered with her grandfather in the mines. I was also drawn to Cree and Calo. Twin dragons who early in the book witness a fate that could be theirs. They pledge to die in battle because the alternative is unbearable. Twin dragons must find there mate or they go insane. Only problem is never has a set of twins found their mate. Luckily the had the Royal House of Validier on their side.It takes a strong mate to handle twin dragons but the poop slinging Melina is going to change history with these two oh and a little help from the Goddess never hurts. My overall ratingsStory: 5 starsThe overall story flowed well, continuity in the series was excellent. They was definite moments of tears, suspense, angst from Melina with lots of laughs and joy.Characters: 5 starsCree and Calo are strong HECK for a big part of the book they thought the they were going to perish without their ever finding their mate. Immediate connection had the reader involved and caring about what fate had in store for these two.Melina what can I say about a young girl who was kidnapped by alien slaves with her grandfather forced to hide she was a woman for her own safety and work with little food. She had such a sassy fun personality but there was a point you did want to shake her she was being stubborn about her feelings for the boys. She did have to face a huge loss in the book so I can cut her some slack on her actions which did progress the story.SPOILER**************CAL, Melina’ s grandfather was. A wonderful character who did his best to take care of his granddaughter after his wife , son and dil were killed in a car accident. I am not going to go further because I need a box of tissues.Overall enjoyment 5 starsS.E. Smith gave us a story that was heart wrenching, tearful, funny and joyful HEA book. Twin Dragons lived up to my expectations so Bravo Ms. Smith! Thank you for a wonderful read.

⭐ Overall Rating: 4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆There has never been a pair of twin dragons that have found their true mate. The longer a dragon shifter goes without finding his mate the more likely he will go insane. Cree and Calo are twins and they have promised each other that they will die in battle, fighting the good fight before they reach the point of no return. But they have been told the story by their father that twin dragons can find their true mate. Will they find a true mate before it is to late?Cree and Calo are twin dragons and they have fought years against the darkness that is trying to take over their souls. If they do not find their true mate soon they will go home for the last time to see their parents and then end their lives. When the twins’ dragons sense their true mate it seems like a miracle until they meet the young human male that was granted asylum aboard their warship. Is this what the Goddess has planned for them? She was kidnapped one night off her family’s farm in Georgia by aliens. With her grandfather they were both sold as workers to an alien race to be used in their mines. To insure her safety her grandfather told the aliens that she was a young boy and kept her true identity hidden. They are rescued after four years by Prince Creon a leader of the dragon shifters and he is also married to a human named Carmen. The Prince promises that he will return them to Earth as soon as possible but first he must complete the mission that he is currently on. Melina finally feels hope where there was none before, they are going home! The only problem is the two beautiful men that Melina feels drawn to from her first moment that she sees them. Confusion is running wild through Melina, she does not understand what is happening to her.The twins know that she is their true mate and they do not understand the feelings they are experiencing toward a male! Will they find out the truth, that the young boy is really a beautiful young woman? Can they convince Melina she is their mate? Or will she return to Earth and leave them to darkness?Hero: Calo 4.5 starsHero: Cree 4.5 starsHeroine: Melina 4.5 starsPlot: 4.5 starsSteam Level: 4.5 starsCliffhanger: NoWould I recommend this book: Yes! This book is hilarious, while still emotionally enthralling! It is filled with hot sexy situations between our twin dragons and their feisty mate!Would I recommend this author: Yes! As soon as a book is released by this author, I am there buying and reading it! She is an unbelievable author that writes books that you can’t put down until the last word is read!***Received an ARC of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review***

⭐ Twin Dragons, their people say that they’re doomed like all the other twins. But the goddess has something in store for them!I’m glad that Mel’s story finally got told. I’m glad she had time to grieve but I wish it was longer?SPOILER ALERT:So when Mel and the twins go to earth I wish she got to spend more time there and have more closure, e.g. Henry and her house. Why the hurry to leave earth? She’s their true mate, she cant leave them. At least give her time to tie up ends and she makes the choice to go them instead of them taking her. I thought it would have made a bigger impact if she went since her first time in space was kidnapping.I loved how she saves them at the end and the the boy gets punished hehehe. Oh and I was a little sad to see that we didn’t get more at the end (like we aren’t told Mel is preggos just that the guys are gonna do it). I’m a bit greedy when it comes to endings.END OF SPOILERSOverall I really enjoyed the book and I can’t wait for the next one!I can’t wait to see what Susan will do with this series 🙂

⭐ Cree, Calo & Melina’s story was excellent! I really enjoyed their story especially since in the beginning when Cree & Calo thought that Mel (aka Melina) was a boy. Though I do think that Cree & Calo’s dragons & symboits knew the truth of what her gender was & were having fun keeping that a secret from them. Melina & her grandfather Cal were initially kidnapped by an Alien trader while they were on Earth & then they were sold to some other aliens that needed slave labor & luckily enough the aliens thought that Mel was a young boy & never bothered her. After years on the mining moon the aliens left them there to die but luckily enough Creon came by looking for his friend Vox who also had been kidnapped & found Cal & Mel & took them off of the moon with the possibility of maybe going back k to Earth. While on the ship & while still keeping up the appearance of being a young boy she met Cree & Calo & then the fun really began. This book contains twin hot sexy Dragons, some fight scenes, a death & lots of sex scenes.

⭐ I love reading a series where the story in each book parallel each other and intersect at points. This time though, it had been long enough where it took me a bit more to link the points with Carmen’s story. Though that didn’t take away from this story at all really. This book begins quite a while before the actually story to give us a little insight as to what happens when twin dragons don’t find their mate. Calo and Cree are witness to this and swear that they will never allow themselves to get that point. Fast forward now a couple centuries and the two of them have pledged themselves to the service of the royal family. They have distinguished themselves as quite the formidable team of warriors and are currently on a mission with Creon to rescue Vox. Only, they know time for them is running out for them because it is getting increasingly harder for them to control their dragons. They had always hoped to die in battle but it doesn’t seem like it will happen. As we already knew, Melina and her grandfather (Cal) were abducted years ago and ended up on an asteroid as slaves. Once the mine was abandoned, they eventually were the last two left alive and were just about to run out of clean air and food when the alarms sounded and they knew someone had landed. After much frustration, Creon agrees to take them and the animal with him. Cal decides that it would be better for Mel to keep pretending to be a mute boy but that soon leads to complications. Mainly when Calo and Cree are around. Mel doesn’t understand the affect they have on her and she fears that their attraction to her would falter if they found out she was a girl. After all, they do think she’s a boy. But when Cal has a heart attack, she’s so desperate to save him that she doesn’t care who finds out she’s a girl. And it immediately makes so much fall into place for Calo and Cree. Melina is lost now because she is truly alone even though the twins have promised her that she would never be alone again. Even so, she is determined to go home and have a normal life. It doesn’t take long for her to realize that Earth is no longer her home though. And shortly thereafter she realizes that she also needs both Calo and Cree because of what Cree’s dragon started when his control slipped. From there it’s pretty much them trying to get to know each other better and the twins learning that Melina needs to be left alone sometimes no matter what they want. The ending was an interesting surprise. I figured that they would take her home to meet their parents but what happened in the village was something I wasn’t expecting. One thing that bugged me about this story was Cal aboard the ship. He acted like such an ungrateful bastard toward pretty much every Valdier that came to where they were staying. I get that he did that to keep them out so that they wouldn’t learn Melina’s secret, but I couldn’t believe how rude he was to the people who saved the two of them when they didn’t have to.This wasn’t the first book in a series where twins had to claim the same mate that I have read so, I admit, I was curious as to how these two would deal with it. Being all alpha dragons and all I couldn’t imagine how they would deal with their jealousy when their brother got the attention of their mate. Needless to say it wasn’t such a surprise when the two of them started fighting. Though their acceptance of having to share seemed to come pretty darn quick when Melina’s dragon put them in place…Sadly…I missed that there was no Zoren and Abby in this book.
