⭐For a motivated student, the best way to learn logic – in my opinion – is to study this book of Prof. Rautenberg. Thanks to a clever path through the subject of logic, the maximum result is obtained with the minimum effort. Every theorem is stated in the most general form and each proof appears to be the best.This is neither a quick introduction nor an easy book, rather a dense and complete introduction to logic, demanding time and good will for a rewarding result.

⭐From my little experience, Introductory texts on logic will have a bias towards either1- Linguistic/Philosophical approach, with a focus on semantics and structure or a2- Mathematical/Computer Science approach, with a focus on formal languages and associated propertiesMy first read on the topic was the easily accessible: Schaum’s introduction of the subject

⭐Schaum’s Outline of Logic, Second Edition (Schaum’s Outline Series)

⭐. That book clearly fell in the first category above. Rauttenberg’s presentation on the subject , as the title would suggest, falls in the latter. After going though the first 2 chapters (Propositional and Predicate logic), I can say that I am pleased. Wolfgang has managed to have written an accessible yet terse text.I am also happy to say that this book, which again is introductory, contains a sizable bibliography.Another book on the subject which I can perhaps recommend is Kunen’s Foundation of Mathematics. The approach is has a strong set theoric bias but the same broad areas are covered.
