⭐ To say that I love this is an understatement. This book was so good that I’m afraid to read the next one. I don’t want the story to end, and I also fear to find out how it will end. This author has made me so happy by making my wish come true in this book, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that everything will be wrapped up in a pretty bow for me in the conclusion of this story. Either way, I’m all in with Sophie.Once again, the author took her down a cliche path but then veered away from it. We have the scenario in which the heroine puts on a short dress to get into a club. Most writers, including me, would have used this opportunity to have the love interest see how hot Sophie looks in that dress. This author bypassed that in favor of having him see her covered in blood. She connects them with strong emotions instead of relying on physical attraction. The attraction is certainly there, but she wisely leaves it simmering in the background until the time is right. She builds a rapport between them that grows stronger until they have an integral understanding of each other. In a story like this, Sophie’s best friend would be left in the dark about Sophie’s dangerous new world. In this story, Sophie confides in her and asks for her advice, as most teen girls would in real life. A best friend is first and foremost a confidant after all. Millie is right there beside Sophie, and she brings the fun into this story.Still, this book is darker and more violent than the first one. Sophie has learned some hard lessons and lost her innocent illusions about people. All of her reactions are so well-written that it makes the far-fetched premise seem realistic.I wish that these books would be turned into movies so that I could see these characters come to life on screen.

⭐ Inferno suffers from “second book” malaise that seems to afflict a lot of trilogies. Sure, there was some forward progress in the story, but really, this could have been a duology, without the readers feeling much of the plot was too truncated. Only two things really happened in “Inferno” – one, Sophie became more personally immersed in Mafia lore and someone close to her leaves our story, permanently. On to book three…

⭐ I seriously need book 3!!!I fell in love with the characters in Vendetta and couldn’t wait for more, which I got with Inferno. From book one I wanted more Luca, and the author SO delivered on that. I’m just impatient for Book 3, the final book now. At least I think it finishes with book 3, as I’m sure that I read it was a trilogy.Anyone who loves to read Mafia books will love this and considering I write erotica that alone should tell you just how good the book is, as it’s a YA read. I’m so glad my daughter passed the paperback for book 1 to me, insisting that I read Vendetta.Thank you Catherine Doyle for an amazing story that kept the pages turning and me burning the midnight oil!!

⭐ Great story & brilliantly told. A real roller coaster from start to finish. Cannot wait for book 3. Real great turns & twists in the story that I did not see coming. Rooting for Luca & Sophie. Well worth reading

⭐ Loved this!! Cant wait for next instalment, great read!!

⭐ Holy Cow, Holy Cow… I couldn’t put this book down!!!Once again Catherine Doyle spun me for an amazing ride in this second book of her Blood for Blood series. I absolutely loved it. My expectations were really high for this book and Catherine Doyle not only met it but exceeded it. It was better than I could have ever hope for. Brilliant Catherine just Brilliant. I take my hat off…if I were wearing one.Seriously this is an ACTUAL story. With an actual plot and action and romance and intrigue and twists and, and, and…so much. I appreciated the slow movement of the story the fact that it was 416 pages and not 300 or less because there is more story to tell and more of it that I didn’t have to put down and wait. The character development of each of the characters was FANTASTIC. The relationships between Sophie & Nic and Sophie & Luca develop slowly and naturally over the course of the book which I like. I get to see the REAL characters of all three and their relationships together. Then you really get to see behind the lives and faces of every character, what they are really like and their stories it was all just amazingly well done.Sophie still as silly as ever…Nic, still has blah as ever…Luca, still sighing over him. With the dark hair and blue eyes…HE was the ONE character that made me want to press on in Book 1, Vendetta, I found him to be FASCINATING and how the author wove him in. With book two we see so much of him you can’t wait to see what he’ll do next. He is a WONDERFUL “bad-ass” character who isn’t good but who isn’t bad. He’s brooding, quiet, aloof, the hero. Deep down he is a swoon worthy character who just was born in the wrong family…*sigh* Luca….The romance was perfect. You think there is going to be a love-triangle but really there isn’t. There is “insta-love” in book one which made me almost put it down. In this one there is real nice slow moving romance that keeps you wanting more. I appreciated the realness of it, the sweet tender moments of friendship that slowly moves to something more.Overall I LOVED this book…duh.Sexual Content: moderate (some kissing)Language: heavy (a few F words and a few other explicit language)Violence: heavy (it’s 2 mafias after each other)Drugs/Alcohol: mild

⭐ Green Giants is my feature where I share some of my favourite books by Irish Authors. I’m passionate about Irish Authors, they supply us with a great and exciting mix of books, hopefully you will find something new to try. Today it’s a series that I’m loving that I want to persuade as many YA fans as possible to read! This is Green Giants take 2 for Catherine Doyle. Last year Vendetta was one of my favourite YA books and Inferno was a rock solid follow up. This review does include spoilers for Vendetta so if you are not familiar with this series maybe go read that review instead.Vendetta was an exciting rollercoaster of book and Inferno took that rollercoaster and made it even more dangerous and thrilling. It’s a book that pulsates with energy and love and hate. It continues the ongoing feud between two Mafia families and our main character Sophie is caught slap bang in the middle.“I was part of something bigger, a player in a world that lived and breathed passion and danger, and it was wrong, and scary, but it was more than just existing, and now that I had experience it, it was hard to shut off.”One thing that really caught my attention in book one was that there was a sniff of a love triangle and it was a love triangle that I wanted to happen! Yes me, that person who hates love triangles! But this one was so promising that I wanted to see it play out. And it did. With heart stopping tender moments and dangerous tension. It was all I wanted and more. The character development continues in this one. Sophie is no longer as innocent as she was in Vendetta, her eyes have been opened wide as to what she has been born into. Her indecisions and fears and mixed emotions left me as tangled up as she was.All there really is left to say is bring on bring on book 3. I’m more than ready for more fighting, more tension, more romance and more Falcone/Marino showdowns.Who should read Inferno by Catherine Doyle? If you enjoyed Vendetta, then I think you will be more than satisfied with what happened next. If you enjoy YA books with a brisk, adrenaline packed pace and lots of dark undertones then I have no hesitation in recommending this to you. Or if you like the sound of a YA series that is Romeo & Juliet meets The Sopranos, then go for it!

⭐ ‘Vendetta’ surprised me and so when I started reading ‘Inferno’ my expectations were high and it was good, really good. It’s full of secrets and lies, twists, turns and surprises and so so much more, it’s a fabulous read.As if she doesn’t have enough trouble with the Falcones another family makes itself know, the Marino’s the sworn enemy of the Falcones and Sophie is right in the middle but why? What’s so special about Sophie, where does she fit in and again why won’t anyone tell her what’s going on?Millie is still the best friend a girl could ask for and although she’s still attracted to Nic Sophie finds herself drawn to Luca (yes, yes, yes) I can’t say much more because I don’t want to spoil anything but if you liked Vendetta’ then you’ll love this. There’s no going back after this Sophie’s life is irrevocably changed but who will be left standing at the end.

⭐ MORE THAN 5 STARS!!!!THIS BOOK. GAH. This book gave me many different emotions and feelings. I’ve been patiently waiting on this book since I read book 1, Vendetta last January. Then when I heard the US release date for this wouldn’t be until the end of this year but the UK release date was in January of this year, I immediately ordered it from Book Depository and I’ve waited 2 weeks for it to get to me in the mail. It arrived in my mailbox yesterday and I finished it in a few hours.Inferno was everything I wanted!!!! EVERYTHING!!!! In book 1, I enjoyed the romance between Sophie and Nic but I had an infatuation with the other brother Luca. And I couldn’t help but ship Luca and Sophie together. I shipped them hard!!! Luca is still badass and I loved him! This book was filled with action, romance, intensity, and violence. I can’t put into words a proper review because my emotions are everywhere. I don’t even think I’m making sense. It has scenes I wanted and needed in my life! I swooned, laughed, and cried. I can’t go into detail without spoilers. But I now have a special place in my heart for Donuts, violets, and switchblades. 🙂 I had to stop reading a few times to shout, catch my breath, slow down my heart rate, and to tell myself how many feels I was having. Not. kidding. I already know this is going to be my favorite book of 2016 and it’s only January. I can’t see any book getting close to my feelings for this book except maybe The Winner’s Kiss when it comes out in March. I highly recommend this mafia YA series! It’s awesome!”Maybe I am looking at you,” he whispered. ” Maybe I always have been.”

⭐ The woman who blurbed this book nailed it when she said it was “sexy and heartbreaking.” This book is REALLY sexy (Luca!!!! FANS SELF) and…also super heartbreaking. I thought Vendetta was good, bordering on great by the end, but this one is FULL-BLOWN AMAZING the whole way through – great characters, great writing & superb chemistry between characters (between Sophie & Luca, between Sophie & Millie). Millie had some of the best one-liners in this book. And now I will always think of “cemetery scene” and “prison scene” when thinking of Luca & Sophie (you have to read it to understand)….also of violets, doughnuts, and kisses. OMG THIS BOOK IS SO GOOD READ IT NOW.
