⭐ 4.5 starsThis was a quick but enjoyable read, it reminded me of the of bodice ripping romances I used to sneak off my mum.With the author’s Scottish humour seeping into her innocent but determined character Flora and our Vampire with a conscience, who spots Flora riding on his land. And then finds her applying to be his Courtesan for his stay in Scotland. The story reminded of a few of my of my favourite films Highlander in some scenes I pictured Gothic mansions, wild moors and heather covered views and brooding skies. And Max reminded me of Carlisle Cullen with his reticence for hurting humans for food, I was quite sad when I got to the end. I could have easily read another books worth of the characters and their journey to their HEA

I’ve been following Fox’s Vampire Blood Courtesans since the release of Reborn: Myra, the inspiration for the series and first story in this spellbinding multi-author collaboration. All the books in the series are either full-length novels or novellas and can be read as standalones in any order but I highly recommend at least reading the first book which lays the groundwork for the entire Vampire Blood Courtesans World. However, several of the stories do have sequels and although Escape does not conclude with a cliffhanger, it does end with a happy-for-now. The story continues in a second book entitled Freedom: Flora releasing January 24, 2017.I adore stories featuring anything paranormal or supernatural and have been completely smitten with sexy vampires since I read Bram Stoker’s Dracula fifty years ago, but give me a combination of both generously seasoned with danger, drama, suspense, humor, witty banter, malevolent enemies, handsome brooding vampires, beautiful plucky heroines and steamy romance, and I’m in heaven! And that’s exactly what Michaels has delivered with Flora’s story! Escape is an exciting, fast-paced, highly imaginative, exceptionally well-crafted and edited paranormal tale filled to the brim with heart-stopping danger, heartbreaking drama, spine-tingling suspense, heart-pounding action, heinous villains, evil machinations, heated attraction, fiery passion, sweet romance, supernatural creatures, and, of course, sexy vampires. Hubba! Hubba! This story has it all! The narrative is beautifully written in the first person with his and her perspectives. The dialogue is smart, witty, well-executed, at times humorous, and flows beautifully. But without a doubt, my favorite and the most notable component of all Michales’ stories is always the cast of fascinating characters. I was instantly smitten with the two protagonists of this story, beautiful nineteen-year-old non-shifting human/wolf hybrid Flora MacNaughtonand dark handsome brooding vampire Maxwell Steele. The lovely longsuffering Flora was brave, clever, quick-witted, sassy, and determined but very much a Scottish country lass whose only respite was working with horses and more at home in the stables than in the city. Maxwell was a dark brooding hero resentful of being turned into a vampire yet he was also intelligent, confident, assertive, powerful, and wealthy. Max was no longer the proud Scot he had been born but had now taken a new name along with his new identity as an American. Although Flora and Maxwell were both born in Scotland and both had horrible fathers, these two characters could not have been more different, yet complemented each other perfectly. Their attraction was immediate, their interaction electric and their passion…undeniable. And their sexual chemistry was so hot it sizzled! Quite often, I found myself laughing at the cheeky banter between these two characters. I was instantly smitten with both protagonists but, oh my goodness, Flora was a real hoot! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! I’ve read most of the books in this collection and loved them all. ⭐ I absolutely loved this story!! Talk about from the frying pan into the fire…. Flora did not know her Alpha father until her mother passed away. Her father denigrates and abuses her as she is a half-breed. Her only chance for “Escape” is to audition for the position of blood Courtesan and get enough money to disappear.She must “borrow” a horse from her father’s stables to get to the audition. Maxwell Steele is arriving by helicopter when he sees a young lady looking wild and free on the back of a jet-black gelding. The only predictable piece of the story is that Max selects Flora to be his blood courtesan; from there we have the threat of the wolf pack and the growth of the relationship between these two. Thrilling read!!

⭐ AK Michaels, you have achieved a wonderful tale, as in a tale that would fit in the Arabian Nights tales mold! Beautifully. Flora is mistreated by her Father, and to gain enough money to get away from Dad’s wolf pack she interviews for a Blood Courtesans. Accepted by her Vampire, her life is turned around. Any more would give the books story!I read it in 2 days, I had to sleep at some stage – I adored the book, the storyline was crafted beautifully and the ending all though a HEA given, held my interest to rhe very end!!! Would I suggest you buy this ebook and read it – hell YES!! Thank you Ava I am a fan as of now you write a tight story, although we know we will have a HEA, its not shown early you need to read right through to find how it is acheived and I am not giving or away either.Do yourself a favour, run and buy the ebook and read it you are going to LOVE the story. I enjoyed watching Flora grow into herself and her Vamp,was a work in progress as well! Ava you have a new fan, thanks for the wonderful story I would love to see Flora and her Vamps story continue. ⭐WOW! I really enjoy this story. It’s awesome, this book is a part of a series that I have loved reading. If you are like me I absolutely loved reading A K Michaels, Michelle Fox. Their characters are magnificent and this story has all romance, action, twists and suspense you could want. It’s well written and so fascinating. This is Flora and Maxwell story, Flora is half werewolf but her father hates her she feels she would do anything to escape her father’s pack even a Vampire Blood Courtesans. Maxwell Steele is a rich Vampire who is in Scotland to settle his hated dead father’s estate. This is a charming, humorous, action and romance story. The dialogue was fun; the story was inventive and fabulous. Flora is feisty, witty and she is fighting not to fall in love with Maxwell, but once she began to understand he really is an honorable guy who was sincere in his desire to help her to escape her father. This is a very fun and interesting read. Filled with lots ofhumor also there is a twist that you didn’t even see coming definitely a great addition for this series If you haven’t read the other stories it’s ok because they can each be read as a standalone but I can say you will be happy to read the others. Again I didn’t want to stop reading! I absolutely love reading books by these two ladies! They keeps you engaged and they don’t leave you hanging! I’m yet to read anything from these author I don’t absolutely love! This is another great read to add to list. I honestly believe this series needs to be turned into a television show! I love this series and once I start reading it, I cannot put it down!

⭐ I absolutely love this book. Once I started it I couldn’t put it down. It kept me completely captivated from the first page through the last. It is very well written, flows smoothly and is a quick and easy read. The author does a great job portraying the characters, their emotions and the experiences they go through.I love the characters. Flora is half wolf and is suddenly forced into living with her Alpha father and his pack. Being a half breed she is an outcast and constantly tormented by those around her. She would do anything to escape her father. I love her personality. Although she is barely an adult she has been through so much but she refuses to be broken. She is strong willed and is willing to risk everything to get away.Maxwell is returning to his childhood home and is in need of a blood courtesan. He doesn’t plan on staying long and only needs someone to take care of his needs. When Flora hears about the open position, she decides it is the only way to get away although she’s not completely certain what she’s getting into.Will she be able to make it as a blood courtesan? Will Maxwell be able to protect her? Will she ever be rid of her father?I highly recommend this books to those who enjoy paranormal romance, vampires, werewolves and for those who have enjoyed other books by the author

⭐ This is my first exploration into the blood courtesean series and I must say after reading this book there are quite a few more of them now waiting on my Kindle for me. Flora is a woman who is basically the child of a local Alpha shifter but she does not know who her father was until after her mother dies. Since she is on able to shift she is made fun of and treated horrible. Her escape plan is to sign up to be a blood courtesan in order to have money to run but she has to audition for this. Enabl sign up to be a blood courtesan in order to have money to run but she has to audition for this. But getting to the audition is not as easy as you would think because she has to basically steal a horse from her father and gets chased all the way there. The first time her future vampire master, Maxwell, sees her it’s from his helicopter as she racist towards his house on the horse. Of course he chooses her but he is only in town to sell off his family estate so when he is done will he send her back to her family or will they get there happily ever after? I must admit I really love the Scottish take on the book because I do have Scottish blood in me so it was fun to see the Scottish slang and fun to see Maxwell try to keep up with Flora since he had been gone for so long. There is some justice that happens in this book that I was very happy about at least. The characters were well Written and it is yet again another great book from this author.

⭐ This is a very good Vamp/Werewolf/Human story unlike any that I have read. Flora is a young woman who lost her human mom and was taken in by her very abusive Alpha father. She spends most of her time down in the horse stable. Well a friend let’s her know of a job that she may want to go apply for. Flora only wants free of her father and his pack so she would take anything. Well what she gets is more than she could have ever hoped for.Maxwell isn’t too thrilled to be back in Scotland so many horrible memories but alas he must do what he must. While there he needs a Courtesan but what he gets is so much more. Well things almost go totally wrong until a beauty walks in unannounced. He will make her his.I enjoyed this book very much and hope to read more soon. This author always has a way of giving me one heck of a good book to read. The best 99 cents I ever spent !!

⭐ I absolutely loved Flora and Max’s story. I’ve really enjoyed reading all the Blood Courtesan stories but this was one of my favorite! Flora trying to escape her abusive alpha father goes to the home of a Vampire trying for a chance to be a blood courtesan. Max has arrived at his childhood home angry and starving. He’s going to be here only long enough to settle his fathers estate. After realizing she’s the lovely creature he saw galloping in on the back of a black horse as his helicopter is landing hired Flora on the spot! A courtesans job is for blood substance and sex and never love…until it is. This is a sizzling hot read I think anyone would enjoy! Reader beware though it is a page turner and you won’t be able to put it down until the very last page!

⭐ What a great story, once again the author gives her readers an amazing read! This is the second book in this series that I’ve read and it didn’t disappoint! After her mother’s death Flora goes to live with the father she never knew but because she’s a half breed and not full wolf he abuses her. When she hears of a vampire’s coming and auditioning for a blood courtesan she decides to go. Maxwell is in town because his father died and he has to figure out the estate. When he sees Flora he hires her on the spot and soon realizes she’s different but can’t figure out why. As they get to know each other feelings start to grow but Flora’s father wants her back and uses his pack to help him. Now Maxwell has to figure out his feelings and save Flora from her abusive father.Once again the author gives her readers a book that just can’t be put down until the last page is read. It may be a short read but you get to know the characters. I love the Scottish slang used in the book, enjoyed saying them out loud much to my family’s amusement. A must read!
