Description

“During that month, you will be completely mine. You will live in my home, obey me in all things. Cater to me only.”

His mouth was against my throat. I felt the scrape of fangs. My head swam with a dark mixture of fear and excitement.

“Is that clear?”

Welcome to the shadow world of Blood Courtesans.
Where vampires are real, and one wants me—bad.

I’m working as a cocktail waitress in a shady club when my boss accuses me of stealing a hundred thousand dollars. There’s no way I can pay him back. But if I don’t, I’m dead.

Then billionaire French vampire Remy de la Lune steps up to pay off my debt. Now I owe him instead–one of the oldest and most powerful vampires in the world.

Become my blood courtesan, Remy says. One month, and then I’m free. He’ll even pay me a bonus–if I satisfy him.

What can I do? I sign the contract.

Now I’m Remy’s for one month. Ensnared by a ruthless vampire count.

My body and my blood are his. I just have to be careful he doesn’t steal my heart as well.

The Vampire Blood Courtesans.
It’s not supposed to be about love…until it is.

From the Inside Flap A Night Owl Reviews Top Pick: “A wonderful adrenaline rush…Ensnared is not to be missed!”Excerpt from ENSNARED:Panic clawed my chest. I started awake, my heart hammering like a wild thing. What was I going to do?The bar where I’d been waitressing had closed last month, and I hadn’t been able to find a new job. I had enough to pay May’s rent, but that would leave me less than a hundred dollars for food and utilities. And I’d still have to come up with the rent for June.I gazed around me, picking out shapes in the early morning light. I rented an attic in a row house on Baltimore’s east side. My apartment was basically one large room with a kitchen at one end, my bed at the other, and three tall dormer windows in the middle. It was cramped, but it was mine and I loved it, from the sloping ceiling that I’d painted sky blue to the sunny yellow walls. My gaze fell on the row of paintings along one wall. My paintings. Maybe they weren’t any good, but they were all I had in the world.I rolled onto my side and closed my eyes, but my mind was racing like a hamster on a wheel. After a few minutes I gave up trying to fall back asleep. Pulling on a hoodie, I crept down the two flights of stairs past my landlords’ apartment and out the front door. The sun wasn’t up yet but it was already warm outside, a hint of the humid Maryland summer to come. As I sat down on the front stoop, a soft predawn haze spread over the line of Formstone row houses that marched up my street. On a nearby roof, a robin was singing to its mate, and a squirrel sent me an inquisitive look from the trunk of a scrubby street tree.At least if I lost the apartment, I wouldn’t freeze. But what would happen to my paintings?Panic grabbed me again. I hugged my knees and told myself that something would turn up.Suddenly the robin went silent as if it had been choked in mid-note. The squirrel froze and then whisked itself into the tree branches.Every hair on my body stood straight up.I looked carefully around me. There. A dark swirl in the shadows at the end of the block…and then a man emerged like a grim, powerful magician.Across the street, my neighbor was jogging down her stoop. She glanced his way and did a double-take.But the man was looking at me. My breath hitched. He was gorgeous: broad shoulders, black hair that curled over his collar and a face too beautiful to be real. He and his sleek charcoal suit stood out in my working-class neighborhood like a Ferrari in a sea of Fords.Wariness skittered up my spine. He was too out of place. Rich, gorgeous men didn’t walk down our street. Ever. And they didn’t stare as if they knew me…or wanted to.

⭐ After reading Compelled: Cerise, I looked for Star and Remy’s story since they played a strong supporting role. I found it in my TBR file and jumped right in. Unlike in Compelled, which largely takes place in France, Ensnared takes place in the U.S., with Remy making a behind the scenes trip to France without Star.Remy is an “ancient” vampire who rules a clan made up of several convens in France. He’s in the U.S. when he scents Star and tracks her to her location. He attempts to approach her, but she rejects his advances, so he turns things over to his right hand man, Malik.Things haven’t gone well for Star since the club where she worked shut down and she couldn’t find another job. Finally, a friend gives her a lead on a waitress position at an exclusive club and she is determined to be an exemplary employee. But that falls apart when she’s accused of stealing and is shown video footage supporting the claim. Beaten and thrown out into the alley, with a twenty four hour deadline to repay the $100,000 they say she stole, Star again comes face to face with the vampire who approached her a week earlier. But this time, out of options, Star says yes.

⭐ I am totally in love with the Courtesan’s. Each and every one I get to meet has a special story each just as memorable as the last. The Vampires I get to meet will totally melt your heart and your panties. Without a doubt. It goes on to show age and experience do count for something. This one was a bit different, in that I usually don’t shout at the kindle 🙂 but make no mistake in this: You will love them all. I can’t wait to see what the next courtesan will be, and the man who will steal her heart and seal her fate. 🙂

⭐ I have quickly become addicted to the blood courtesans series. Each book is a stand alone though a few of them may mention other characters. In this book a vampire named Remy has found a woman named Star that he want to have, the problem is she is not interested in him or in being bought. The problem is that Remy is obsessed and when some things happen to Star to leave her in a horrible situation he agrees to step up and pay her debt, for a price. Star has no choice but to become his blood courtesan for a month to pay him back. But what happens if she loses her heart? Can love overcome the feeling of betrayal? Or will someone else step in the way first and ruin the chance for anything to happen? I love the characters and they are well written and so in the situations and plot. Loved it!

⭐ I found this to be an amazing book that I really enjoyed. Remy is old and thought himself beyond the laws of man and morals. He also thought himself incapable of love. He was wrong! Star was a down and out woman with a traumatic past and dreams for a future she holds on tightly to. When Remy wanted something, he got it at all costs. He wanted Star after one glance so he manipulated her into a situation that puts her life in danger forcing her into becoming his. It’s not until Star finds out what he did and when his actions placed her into his enemies grasp that they both realize that love is stronger than any plans of either of them.

⭐ How do you describe a sexy, good-looking, French-speaking 700-year-old vampire in one word? HOT! Count Remy de la Lune sizzles in Ensnared, Book#6 in the Blood Courtesans series. I confess this is the first book in this series I have read and it will undoubtedly not be the last! This book is a fast-paced, action-filled story about a young, down-but-not-out woman and a sexy, 700-year-old vampire who is attracted to her blood and intends to make her his for a month. I loved the sassy, stubborn young woman in this story, and what’s not to love about a smart, sexy, endearing vampire? The two of them together sizzled and smoldered off the pages! Their story was interesting from the beginning, kept me turning pages and gave me a satisfying ending. If you’re looking for a short, quick, enjoyable read, I’d recommend grabbing this book now.

⭐ Title: Ensnared: Star Series: ✨ Blood CourtesansRelease Date: #AlreadyReleasedAuthor: Rebecca Rivard and Michelle FoxReviewer: Ingrid Stephanie JordanGenre: #PRN #Vampires#5Stars ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Wow this was really a good book I loved it I started it and I couldn’t put it down I had to read it till the last page believe me this was totally awesome the characters, the settings, the drama it all came together and it was just remarkable I definitely recommend this book. Star Salazar was doing everything she could to get by, she lived in a little apartment it was wonderful and it was hers. She loved it but she lost her job and she doesn’t have much money what is she going to do. A rich man wanted her, she told him to get lost, luckily her friend told her about a job opening at her work place and so she went there it was a cocktail waitress but it was a job to make money. Remy de la Lune is a Seven Hundred Year Old Vampire Count who controls all of France. One sniff and he knew, she was his, he had to have her as his Blood Courtesan, money was no object. He’d pay any price to get her. The contract was drawn up but she was still stubborn. He had to get her. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

⭐ I really enjoyed this book. Its one of the best ones I’ve read in the Blood Courtesans. I enjoyed both characters immensely and they weren’t overpowering and fighting each other like some others can. They arent at odds. Now…I did wince slightly when I found out Remy kinda orchestrated a lot of things in Star’s life. I knew that wouldnt end well for him and I wasnt happy with him myself. Star was sweet but NOT a pushover and she wasnt too much either. She’s just trying to make a living and gets into quite the situation that Remy saved her from or did he? I recommend it.One annoyance was the over use of the word effing. Just say the word your trying to say. There were cuss words in the book so I dont know why the author felt effing was cute. It wasnt…annoying a little.

⭐ My type of vamp read! I really enjoyed Star and Remy’s story; every element of betrayal, suspense, jealously, romance, passion and topped off with an HEA.The only peeve I have to mention is the use of “wrenched”, it worked my nerves. For instance:“I wrenched my ass off the stoop” (3%) – really, you couldn’t just hop your happy ass off the stoop?“I wrenched my focus back to the three lethal looking men” (6%) – How is your focus wrenched? Just turn your dang head.Ok, in this context it works for me – “his grip on my right wrist loosened. I wrenched it free and raked my fingernails down his neck” (75%)Okay, enough of that. Let me “wrench” my focus back to this review and say simply – Great read & loved it!!!

⭐ Vampire arrogance and infatuation leads to manipulation and entrapment. This is not a good beginning for a love story. Star is forced to whore herself out, but she struggles to retain her dignity and her heart as she falls for her benefactor. This is the first vampire blood courtesan story I have read, and I enjoyed the characterization and descriptions, but the ending just did not resonate with me. Star fled an abusive father and turns around and accepts Remy after he made her a whore. He is 700 years-old vampire who expects to be obeyed and takes what he wants. Remy, a self-centered member of the aristocracy falls in love with a foul mouth pauper and turns himself around. Just do not see it.
