Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐Mr. King has probably saved my life more times than I can remember. I’ve been in some dark holes within my own mind and his stories help to bring a little light when I’m absolutely lost. I know this isn’t a review of Firestarter but I have wanted to tell Mr. King how much he has helped me along the way for a long time. I will consider this my message in a bottle and hope it washes up along some special beach in the Northeast Thanks SK…you the man!

⭐This is a well written book. As opposed to the movies which were terribly this was quite good. If you like Stephen King I highly recommend this

⭐This is one of my favorite king books i loved the character of charley and loved the build up and the ending. Cant wait to see the movie now

⭐Not as exciting perhaps as some of King’s other books, but very captivating nonetheless. Charlie McGee was a superhero before they were trendy. King writes children very well.

⭐I’ve been reading Stephen King for a long time. I’m a sixtytwo year old Constant Reader and I’ve been reading since around 1975-76 or so. I read Firestarter a long time ago and I wondered if it would hold up. It does. This is a really good story and you come to travel with Charlie and Andy and actually care about the characters. The part that lets you know that you are in the hands of an artist and not a hack is that you also can sorta, kinda, understand the “baa guy’s” point of view. Not that you ever root for them. Especially, the main psycho John Rainbird but you do come to at least see why they feel the way they do. It also takes you back to a time of no instant internet or cell phones or blogs or youtube. You had a the national newspapers such as the New York Times and the Washington Post and a slew of hometown papers and that was about it. No 24 hour news cycle or internet and the feeling is much more claustrophobic as the noose tighten’s around the main characters. They can’t just whip out a cell phone and alert the world via social media. One more thing that I really liked was the Afterword. It has the usual “thanks to him and her and all the ships at sea” but it also talks about actual U.S. and at that time Soviet research into psychic phenomena. I’ve been interested in the fringe for most of my life. So, I found it interesting that perhaps my favorite author has at one time or another actually peeked a little into the rabbit hole. I suggest in real life a youtube channel called “New Thinking Allowed” with Jeffery Mislove for some actual Remote Viewing and other serious research that has and is being done. Anyway, back to the book and the story. I highly recommend this one. Good stuff.

⭐I have not yet began this book. However, I have many other Stephen King novels, and have never been disappointed. If you are a reader, I would suggest this a must buy.

⭐Bought as a gift and he is thrilled with it.

⭐Love this book

⭐This is a good book. I’ve read Stephen king books for many years now and remember reading it first time round when I was young. I enjoyed it then and enjoyed reading it again. I highly recommend this book to Stephen king fans and even people who are new to his books. Synopsis. Charlie McGee is a special little girl who because her parents were given lot 6 an experimental drug they both developed mind control powers. When their daughter Charlie was born she had pyrokinetic abilities. As a result the company that ran the program known as The Shop wanted Charlie. They would stop at nothing to get her. That is the gist of the story as I don’t want to give any spoilers away.

⭐Another early king novel, a thrilling story of how far you’ll go to protect your privacy and family, a father on the run with his little button being chased by a government outfit the shop, brilliant read onwards to roadwork then Cujo

⭐Granted it isn’t Carrie or The Shining, but it was certainly a lot better than I thought it would be.It even perhaps has the creepiest character I’ve encountered in a King Novel.

⭐Did I like it? It was OK. Was it interesting? It was if I think of characters.Stephen King is normally very good with creating characters that seem multi-dimensional and rarely entirely black and white. I like reading about what they THINK and what they FEEL and why they DO such and such after. The plot is predictable though, the ending is sort of predictable too, but left hanging in the mid air.Stephen King has written much better books, his short stories are absolutely brilliant. Read this one but do not expect too much.

⭐Great read, film has kept almost faithful to the book. Not so much chilling as a dramatic read. I recommend.
