⭐ Go Eat Worms! by R. L. Stine is Goosebumps book 21 in the original order. Go Eat Worms is more gross than scary. The title is based on a character’s phrase to tell other kids off, Go Eat Worms! I am very picky when it comes to food so biting into a sandwich and and eating half of a worm would be my nightmare. Which is why I always lift the bread to see but still seeing a worm on my sandwich would ruin me. The nightmare scene of the worm bath was well done and the only scene of any horror. The story is more a series of pranks with a small hint of supernatural. The ending I saw for a mile away, and was let down by it. The final twist was lame too. The totally 90’s thing in this book is the Trapper Keeper. The Plot: Todd is worm obsessed, when he is not putting worms down his sister’s shirt and in her soup, he studies them. He a worm farm he thinks is a shoe in to win the science fair, until the new rich kid in town wants to copy Todd’s idea and do something with worms. Todd needs to know what he’s doing, his sister being friends with the rich kid ask her for the address, but his sister tired of all the worms down the shirt gives the wrong address. This is the starting of a prank filled story that turns gross. What I Liked: Some of the pranks are pretty funny, the one at the fair is the best one. I did think the wrong house was good and would have loved for that scene to continue, but it goes back to pranks. I did like the shower of worms nightmare, which was the only thing terrifying. The worm in the sandwich was gross but effective, and sets the tone for as far as they will go.What I Disliked: The ending is too projected and really lame. Their was barely a supernatural element but would have been so much better if the story went in this direction. The final twist was one of the worst so far.Recommendation: Go Eat Worms is more gross over scary. it’s is more like an episode of prank wars than a full story. I recommend you skip this Goosebumps book. I rated Go Eat Worms by R. L. Stine 3 out of 5 stars. Here’s my full ranking of the 20 Goosebumps books that I have read in order to my favorite to least favorite:Stay Out of the Basement, Piano Lessons Can Be Murder, The Haunted Mask, One Day At Horrorland, Night of the Living Dummy, Welcome to Camp Nightmare, The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb, Say Cheese and Die, Let’s Get Invisible, The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight, Welcome to Dead House, Monster Blood II, The Girl who Cried Monster, Deep Trouble, The Ghost Next Door, Be Careful What You Wish For… ,Why I’m Afraid of Bees, Go Eat Worms!, The Werewolf of Fever Swamp, Monster Blood, And You Can’t Scare Me!

⭐ When I asked what she wanted for her 8th birthday, my granddaughter specifically requested this book. She is a huge Goosebumps fan.

⭐ I used to read this when I was in my pre teens and thru my teens and I’m going to try and introduce them at the workplace to see if the 21st century kids take to them. I would recommend these books for light, fun reading. The font is big. Parents, there are no pictures in these books. If you want illustrations, go buy a comic book! Highly recommended series.
