    Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

    ⭐Content of book fine- watch out- shipping was a lie- took WEEKS to show up- not worth the wait for a 15$ used paperback

    ⭐I love my new book. Thank you so much. Also, shipping was faster that what I expect. ❤️✨

    ⭐Defiantly not for dummies, highly inclusive

    ⭐Everything was good

    ⭐I got it for a gift for a friend , ,so I don’t know.

    ⭐I would say this is not the 10 books in 1 promised on the cover, it’s more like 4 books:(1) A very basic introduction to retail investing with a mid-1990s feel. It’s true there is some coverage from the last 20 years, but it is spotty and added as afterthoughts. For example, the material on SIPC protection is inaccurate and makes zero mention of investors’ SIPC experience with Lehman, MF Global, Madoff or Stanford. The hedge fund material describes only private offshore limited partnerships, not the wide variety of retail-oriented hedge fund strategies available today. The material on benchmarks omits recent scandals and investigations. There is no discussion of the legal risks of some of the strategies. Tax material is out of date.(2) A 20,000-foot-level discussion of commodities, FX and derivative trading. Here the basic material is omitted, there’s no discussion of the nuts and bolts procedures for this type of trading. The impression given is that you should trade by inspired guesswork, there is nothing about the academic or practitioner literature evaluating strategies (see

    ⭐by the same publisher for what the professionals use). In fact, none of the empirical claims in these sections is backed up at all. The sections seem to be written by journalists who have interviewed traders, rather than anyone who has actually traded.(3) Material on crowdfunding. I’m not qualified to judge the accuracy or usefulness of this material if you want to participate, either raising money or investing, but there’s nothing of what a “high-powered investor” would need to know before getting into this area. My suggestion is that if your interest is here, just go for the

    ⭐or one of the other basic how-to books in this area.(4) Brain-dead chapters on technical analysis. I think technical analysis in general is worthless, but even if you disagree, you will not find much useful in these chapters. This is the anti-empirical type of technical analysis that never gives you a firm answer one way or the other, just specific-sounding advice that dissolves into meaninglessness if you try to actually form a position based on it–with built-in excuses for when it doesn’t work.If you took all the accurate and up-to-date information in this book, you would have something about 20% as big that would be an okay investment primer for novice, low-powered investors. Some of the more advanced material is useful, but if you know enough to sort that out from the errors, outdated stuff and nonsense, you don’t need this book. The best use is for someone who wants to be a journalist for CNBC.

    ⭐The “Dummies” series is a brand that started out providing basic information on a variety of topics for people who wanted just a general introduction to a topic or concept. It’s turned into such a powerful brand–in the true marketing sense of “branding”–that topics get covered in the series that really have no business being presented as something “For Dummies,” simply because it’s the best chance a publisher or an author has to sell a book on that topic.”High-Powered Investing All-in-One for Dummies” is just such a title. You’re not going to learn anything about high-powered investing–at least not from this book–if you’re a dummy. This book is 700+ pages (including index) packed with info about everything from hedge funds and foreign-currency trading, to commodities and lower-powered investments like mutual funds and ETFs. Since I’m an investment “dummy”–hence my interest in this book–I have no way of knowing if the information in the book is good, accurate, misleading, or the key to my future financial success.I think that unless you’re a skilled investor, the best you can expect from this book is to pick up a little bit of information about the various topics covered, and then go on to research further the topics that interest you, and then speak with others, including financial professionals, about which investments might be good for your goals and proclivities.

    ⭐The 10 booklets in this book cover the following topics:1) Investing (in stocks and bonds)2) Futures and Options3) Commodities4) Foreign Currency Trading5) Hedge Funds6) Emerging Markets7) Value Investing8) Socially Responsible Investing9) Crowdfund Investing10) Technical AnalysisBooklets 1, 7, and 10 impart basic knowledge that every investor should have (e.g., what’s the difference between investing and trading) and also discuss basic tools that can help an investor or trader make more informed decisions (e.g., how to extract information from financial statements to evaluate how well a business is performing compared to its past performance and industry peers; how to read potential buy and sell technical signals, etc.).The remaining booklets deal with more specialized topics that may appeal to readers with an interest in dipping their toes into investing and trading vehicles that go beyond simple buying and selling of stocks and bonds. For each specialized investing or trading vehicle, a primer that goes into the basics of how to get started, what the rules and mechanics of the game are, what the potential risks and rewards are, and where to get more information, is provided. Key concepts are explained succinctly, but for deeper dives into those concepts, readers are referred to other resources.The booklets are rather short — varying in length from 60 to 85 pages only — and there are redundant materials covered in related chapters and booklets. While the breadth of the covered topics is good, and the provided information for each topic is useful enough to help readers get started in the right direction, readers looking for more in-depth introduction to specific topics should look elsewhere.In the book’s introduction, it’s mentioned that experienced investors are the target audience for this book (thus, the “High-Powered Investing” title). So perhaps one way this book can be improved and made really more useful for experienced investors is for booklets 1, 7, and 10 to be elided or edited drastically to include only non-beginner stuff, making room for more in-depth discussions of the other topics.

    ⭐A+++

    ⭐I’m still a dummy but it is a good book
