⭐Delbruck’s work is actually four volumes. While it is sometimes difficult to read, it is very dry in some areas, it is well worth the effort. Delbruck discusses the “Art of War” from ancient history to Napoleon. He explains the development of weapons, tactics, cavalry and infantry. While all four volumes may take six months to read you will gain a general understanding of how armies have been equipped and fought through the years.
