User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐This book has all the information you need to visit Japan… the format works. THe only bad part is you can’t visit everything!!! We really enjoyed Japan and this book was key!!

⭐Love that this is a great overview of Japan. Perfectly highlights the best places to visit, big and small.

⭐I have used Lonely Planet Books in the past, but this one came up short for me. I’m traveling to Japan next Spring and was looking for a travel book that had good text information and photos of the places I plan to visit. This one was disappointing. Fodor’s Essential Japan and DK Eyewitness Japan is more what I was looking for, so I bought those instead – good used prices too.

⭐I love LP guides and have been using them for many years. This one just came out so the information is probably pretty accurate. Great to use for trip planning and to learn more about the country.

⭐Got this as a gift for a 3 week long solo trip. It took a lot of guess work of what to do when I visited 10+ cities. I was able to plan day trips or overnight stays in a matter of hours at every stop.

⭐The striking cover photo shows the Yasaka five-storey pagoda in Kyoto.Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a World Heritage Site, is located nearby. The Old capital of Kyoto has many World Heritage Sites.

⭐The kindle version of this book is impossible to navigate. Searches lead to the the wrong location, full table of content does not appear, several other Kindle features do not work with this book though they work with all my other books. Don’t buy the kindle version of this book if you want to avoid huge frustrations.

⭐We buy those books everytime we travel – we always use them! Checking up some new area in the city, planned 2-3 days trips, maps of the important areas – it got it all. Go to the section you are about to visit and you get the main points within minutes plus some history and facts on the place.

⭐This book has made planning for Japan a cinch, it has helped me find out the hidden gems and help me get tips that you’d have to search around for and watch videos just to know the customs. This is a great companion for my travels.

⭐Gave it away as a gift

⭐Feel deceived in that the publication date listed on Amazon as March 2022 is inaccurate. Real publication date is December 2021. When it comes to travel guides several months can make a difference, especially during a worldwide pandemic.
