⭐ Why this book has such a positive rating…I’m an avid reader and I will usually finish reading even mediocre book to the end. But reading this book has been so painful and I’m giving up now at a third of the way in.There is no real story line, just character interactions, which are mostly drawn out and tedious. The majority of the content is a series of text message strung together. I feel like the relationships between the characters don’t make sense, there’s no character development or building of their stories to explain why they are interacting the way they are. Often when reading I felt like the author was trying to dish out desert but there was never any entrée or main course! At nearly half way through this book the main characters have only left their apartment once during the story. Surely they have lives beyond hanging out in their bedrooms and living room texting each other?I’m just so honestly baffled by what people have written in the positive reviews, there are no strong characters, no powerful messages, the story is definitely not complex or intriguing.. I don’t feel confident this story is going to improve in the second half of the book so I’m opting out now.

⭐ I tried this book and I was really bothered by the emotional and actual cheating after all the build up and high horsiness stating they NEVER would do that… then completely disregarded the fact that they were deceitful and cheated too. It’s ok to mess up, but if there’s no owning it then ??? I tried another book by this author (All Your Perfects) and I reallllllyyy hated that too so ultimately I just think these are not the books for me. I’m sad because I really wanted to find another author I love. Overall, I wish I would have tried the full samples before buying her stuff and depressing myself.

⭐ I am a new fan of Colleen Hoover. The first two books of hers I read were “Verity” and “Too Late.” I read in an author’s blog that those books were different from what she usually writes. This is the first all romance book of hers I’ve read. What no weird stuff? No truly evil people? Still, whatever it is about her writing that draws me in was present in all three books. What I really liked about this book is that it was not cheesy romance. When I read romance I prefer it to be historical romance, or mystery romance, thriller romance or anything but only romance because those books tend to have codependent characters, fantasy settings, and unrealistic endings. So I was pleasantly surprised with the strong and emotionally healthy characters and the lack of black and white judgments in this book.I wish I could say what it is about this author that draws me in. Until I can, I will continue to enjoy being entertained by the author’s work. I’m off to read the sequel to this book.

⭐ Maybe Someday was my first Colleen Hoover book and it definitely won’t be my last. I loved the book. It’s kind of perfect. The writing is flawless and charged with feeling. It’s one story that you won’t be able to forget. This is the kind of book you read over and over again. I specially loved the music. The songs the characters compose were turned into real songs, and they are beautiful and perfect for the story. The best part is that you can actually listen to them.I also loved the words. I mean, some parts of it feel like poetry. So many beautiful words. The way it’s written really allows the reader to experience the emotions the characters are feeling. I could feel their anguish, their longing for each other, their desperation, everything really. It felt real.I also loved the story. It’s forbidden love but on a very different level. Both Sidney and Ridge are very well developed characters and very likable people. It’s a story about the inevitability of love and bad timing. I know I’m not making this book justice with my words. The only thing I can say is that I believe this is one story every romance lover should read. It will not only not disappoint, it will leave you breathless.

⭐ This is my first Colleen Hoover book and I am blown away. I loved the idea of this book! There were so many emotions while reading this. Surprise, humor, anger, dismay and shock. Okay I may have been moved to tears a time or two. Also the emotions this brought out when Ridge and Sydney had scenes together. OMG! I couldn’t believe him a couple times nor her! Seriously just move out! Right?Warren was a guy who cracked me up more than once! What a whack a doodle! So when he was serious I was like Wha? Who is this guy! Warren was a good stress reliever to the book. I think it might have been too serious if he wasn’t there. That ending!!! OMG!! So much emotion. I loved how Ridge “listened” to Sydney and when they were “together”! Best scene I have ever listened to! Perfectly what I would expect from these two! Ridge was built as a dream man and WOW did he fulfill that role!I listened to this on audio and there were times I was shocked, sickened and pleased. Zachary Weber and Angela Goethals were outstanding! I can’t think of another narrator who could have done Ridge any better. Well done!

⭐ This book was an emotional one that’s for sure. I love Sydney and Ridge so much, they are obviously meant to be yet there is Maggie and you don’t even know why he is so devoted to his relationship until much later in the book. Their relationship doesn’t even seem to have any issues so it was really hard to root against them. So much made sense by the end of the book. I have to say I had this book for a few weeks and started and stopped it many times before I really buckled down and read it because it was a little to Angsty for me those times then I bought the audio book and because of my love of Zachary Webber I kept listening. I’m so glad I did because I ended up loving the story. Loving the characters. In the end after many false starts I finished the audio book in one day. Currently listening to Maybe Now.The story of Maybe Someday was very original, not the norm for a pure romance book because for the most of the book Sydney and Ridge are just friends, friends that are obviously complete soul mates. Ridge is such a loyal man. His love for Maggie is admirable even when you find out there were flaws and even though that love was not right for Maggie you can’t help but love him for it. Sydney is such a great character, she has to be one of my favorite heroines ever. Her empathy and compassion and understanding of human feelings is selfless. She and Ridge are really perfect for each other. So while this book will rip your heart out and stomp on it over and over again it will put it back together in the end and is completely worth the emotional shredder. This is one of those books that I am going to say is BETTER with the audio. The performances by Webber and Goethals are spot on.

⭐ I wanted to revisit the first book that began my love of Colleen Hoover and I am glad that I loved this book as much the second time as I did the first time. Colleen has the ability to write about a situation that you feel it so deeply. This book blew my mind on how it sucked me and did not want to let go of my attention.Ridge was just this guy that you cannot help to fall in love with. He has such a big and pure heart. He cares so deeply and purely. I was swoony melting mess when it came to Ridge. Then you have Sydney, she cannot catch a break. Through it all she was king hearted and handled her situations the best she knew how.I loved the twists and turns in this book. I thought that all parts up made up such an amazing love story. Colleen writing is beautiful and draws you in so effortlessly.

⭐ I couldn’t put the book down. I think the author was trying to let the readers a message that there will always be imperfections in a relationship. Ridge and Maggie’s relationship was just so beautifully unfolded for me that it was tough to see Ridge having something similar relationship with Sydney. I am okay with that b/c it was pretty raw and honest from the get go. I believe that’s a good thing to see what best fit for each other. What best fits of living “for” you. I think this story is bittersweet and yes, my heart was tug this way and that for Maggie or Sydney. I couldn’t make up my mind who he should be with. I think Maggie has a great point and Sydney, too. I think Ridge made the right choice…all of them did. Oh, don’t forget Warren and Bridgett. I liked them. They weren’t horrible characters for me. In any case, I wanted to know their story. So, when I saw the book Maybe Not and it was about them. I am eager to read about them, too. :). 5 stars for me!

⭐ Oh. My. God. This book. I had to stay up until 4:30 am to finish it! I simply had to know what was going to happen next. It’s been a while since I fell in love with a fictional character but I think I did fall in love a little bit with Ridge. Unfortunately, in my life I have known only the type of guy that Hunter represented. Ridge wasn’t perfect, his attraction to Sydney did cross a line, but then he fought the attraction, fought it so hard, fought it to what I would call heroic proportions. Talk about a slow burn, in a good way. I have to give Colleen Hoover credit, this is great writing. She kept my guessing until about 80% of the way through the book. I didn’t think there could be a happy ending but then, miraculously, there is a very happy ending indeed.

⭐ This book took me a while to get through. That is very unlike me therefore only giving it 2 stars.I liked Sydney’s story and I liked Ridge’s story separately. It was the moving in with a stranger because you found out you loser boyfriend was banging your best friend. I mean gtfo! But move in with complete strangers except the one plays his guitar on his balcony and you sit on yours to hear him? Sure! Move in with that guy! I mean, he plays the guitar. Has to be trustworthy and all that.If you take away that weird intro I liked the story. I liked Sydney with Ridge. I think they needed to learn some things about each other and Ridge needed to learn about his relationship with Maggie and Maggie’s relationship with Ridge.Ok book. I don’t think I’d recommend it.
