Determined to help Emilia win the throne, Subaru accompanies her to the capital, but Emilia herself stubbornly refuses his assistance. As the tension grows between the royal candidates, so does the friction in the pair’s relationship. Has Subaru’s devotion gone too far?

User’s Reviews

Reviews from Amazon users which were colected at the time this book was published on the website:

⭐Enjoying the series

⭐The book arrived with water damage on the bottom right corner of some pages. Hopefully, this will not reoccur.

⭐Would of been nice to get a non damaged copy.

⭐What I love about this series is the surprising amount of depth and humanity given to the main characters. Fantasy is my favorite genre of fiction, but there is often a disconnect between me and the larger than life characters participating in larger than life situations. As this series goes on, the characters are given insecurities and flaws that are relatable on a human level, despite the plot being pure fantasy.I was initially surprised that this novel only covers two episodes worth of the anime, but it becomes very apparent why. There is a significant amount of additional details about the mythology of the world and the backstories of the other royal candidates and their knights, including some major bombshells. The increase in details about the world, and the further insights given to the characters through showing what is happening inside their minds, is more than enough to make this an exciting read despite having seen this part of the story in animation before.

⭐This is the first Volume that had major omissions when it was adapted into the anime, so it’s been my favorite so far. The Red Dressed Woman makes more sense as the cover character than you’d think having watched the anime. However, The translation needed another read through. Stuff like the occasional typo isn’t the worst thing in the world, but mistranslating six centimeters to half a foot and having a one arm man using a hand he doesn’t have cause some moments of confusion. Hopefully these will be fixed in a future printing.

⭐The sexy bangin princess!, but then not so hot as she makes one cringe throughout with her arrogance hahaha.. Poor SubaruFor those who have watched the anime,(Amazon customer you now who you are) :p this is between eps I believe 11_13 with the whole Royal selection going on and a desperate Subaru who infiltrates against Emilia’s will, Subaru has gained the trust of those around him until this point… Despair and solitude awaits him again. Book also came with less art in the inroductory pages as it is soon followed by charter profiles. Next volume should be mind blowing to those who haven’t read it including myself! SUPPORT THE SERIES! :)PS: what really made it up for me was the details on Al’s story… Subaru is not alone…? ;D

⭐This is a good story, Subaru will reach his lowest point at least so far in this book. IT was hard to read and had to read over a few days but still read

⭐En este volumen se expande el mundo de la historia, el escritor hace un excelente trabajo describiendo las escenas y el desarrollo de personajes es exquisito.Esta versión está en inglés.

⭐Not found.

⭐I really can’t understand all the excitement around the re-zero series…..I read the first one and I thought it was pretty good , the second and the third I sort of like it , but I found the fourth a bit average. At the start I couldn’t really understand why I wasn’t enjoying these novels as much as the 99% of the others readers, but I have now realized that my problem is with Subaru the main character, I do find him extremely annoying and in particular in this book , I understand that this volume is mostly meant to put the bases for the new story arch and therefore a bit slower than the ones to follow , but right now, if I feel like to read another Isakai ( I am more of a slice of life light novel reader), I will probably go for Arifureta or Konosuba and let some time go before I continue this series. So I wanted to give it two stars but that would have been to mean as it might be just me and my dislike for the main character, so three stars it is…

⭐This is a key book in the series, with important character introductions and the royal selection starting. As it’s important it doesn’t have the same fun or action as the previous books, and a darker tone starts to set in. But pay attention to the characters and what they say as it really helps set up the next few books.

⭐A fantasyic series, well worth reading.

⭐was pretty good.

⭐Another great book from the author. Well worth reading from the beginning and adds a lot more to the story, that is not featured in the Manga or the Anime version.
