Description

From the indefatigable Wallace family, authors of The Book of Lists and The People’s Almanac series (New York Times bestsellers that sold over eight million copies internationally), came 1981’s The Intimate Sex Lives of Famous People.

This compelling bestseller that kept many a reader up at night with its two hundred revealing profiles and three hundred rare photos just got better with a dozen new entries on the nocturnal fascinations of the iconic Tupac Shakur, Carlos Casteneda, Jim Morrison, Nico, Wilt Chamberlain, Ayn Rand, Kurt Cobain, Princess Diana, Aleister Crowley, Anna Nicole Smith, Michael Hutchence, and Malcolm X.

Irving Wallace was the famous novelist and screenwriting author of The Chapman Report and The Word. His wife, Sylvia Wallace, wrote the best-selling novel The Fountains. The Wallace family’s publishing magic lives on with Amy Wallace, author of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice: My Life with Carlos Castaneda, and David Wallechinsky, author of The Complete Book of the Summer Olympics and Tyrants: The World’s Worst Dictators.

⭐ This book is chock-full of strange and interesting tidbits about all kinds of unexpected people throughout history. It naturally focuses on different aspects of their love affairs and love lives, but with the impressive goal of trying to tie these anecdotes and accounts into the overall body of knowledge we have about these people. As the book states, intimacy is an important part of life, and so if you want to really know about how a person was, what was important to them, and how they dealt with things, their approach towards love shouldn’t be neglected wholesale in a thorough discussion of their lives. That said, who knows how much of this information is apocryphal, as can happen all too easily with biographical accounts. I would view this book as a good way to get a feel for what was said and thought about famous figures throughout history, during their lifetimes.

⭐ WELL..I bought this meaning to give it as a raucous gift but kept it because of the extensive encyclopedia of characters I never heard of. The description of those was more illuminating than I cared about their sex lives.Interesting book.Bought another for a gift.

⭐ I first read this book in the late 1970’s and quickly found that the name was misleading. The authors didn’t “smutitize” famous people by giving blow by blow sex partners of the famous people that they wrote about. Rather it gave brief synopsis on the people’s lives and deeds. Then it told whether they were either straight, bi or gay and a little about their spouses. But I loved it because there were so many interesting people mentioned that I would not have heard of them had it not been for this book.

⭐ It was the older version of book which does not talk about current people. It’s not the book’s fault probably but it’s a little depressing sometimes bc some men were into things like girls.

⭐ Well for anyone who thinks that the world has gone to the dogs because we just don’t have the morals we used to, I suggest they check this out. As far back as can be remembered , he famous both political & in the arts have been “breaking bad” for a long time. The seller provided in record time & in excellent condition.

⭐ Will not disappoint. I bought this book 30 years ago and was delighted to find it available in Kindle format.
