Description

Examining the ancient Gospel of Thomas–a Gnostic text supressed by the early church–Osho paints a portrait of Jesus that is radical and revolutionary, a Jesus who makes demands that run counter to the safe and gentle person of traditonal Christian teaching.

⭐ Excellent book. The writing style is very conversational in my opinion, which is nice for this sort of thing. I’ve raved and recommended this book to quite a few people in my life.

⭐ He’s controversial as hell if you look into it, but my experience with his followers and teaching has been only positive and powerful. Osho is an enigma, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to understand the Christian gospels on a deeper, non-dual, level.

⭐ Like a bolt of lightning into the heart. Words to make your spirit soar.

⭐ Excellent

⭐ In Osho’s words: “You are missing the Divine, not for very great causes – – No! (for a 15 collar) . . . The cause of man’s illness is simple; he is addicted to small things.”To truly understand, read this book. . slowly and carefully. Osho was amazing and brilliant and offered beauty and insight easily packed into very few words. So many phrases in the book are powerful as those above. . . but you must be in the space to understand and apply them. This is yet another of his life changing books . . and offers us a peek into understanding the teachings of Jesus the Christ. This is one to read, as are all his books, if you want to create a world of truth and beauty amidst the chaos and insanity of our modern world. I cannot recommend it enough. If however you are pleased with what society has to offer. . . you may want to postpone reading this book.

⭐ Over the course of a lifetime, only a handful of books truly changes the way one perceives the world. For me, this is one of those books. With wit and deep insight, Osho traverses the border of Western and Eastern thought drawing on the commonalities of both. The book rationalized some of the teachings of Jesus and put them in context– some his most difficult parables were given clarity. Osho’s words are sharp, and cut deep.Though I bought this book in 2000, I lost it soon after I finished it. Even now I still wrestle with some of his ideas.I won’t go so far and say that this book is for everyone. It is quite long, and the reader must be open to Osho’s ideas, which at times can seem black and white. But if you can get by that, the book is extremely deep. And satisfying.

⭐ I was at Rajneeshpuram (Osho’s Oregon commune) when this book was first published and denmand for it was very high (I had to wait several weeks to get a copy). And with good reason, too. This book presents a more believable Jesus, a revolutionary mystic whose mission was to put us in touch with our inner selves, rather than a god-man interested in only gettingpeople to worship him.

⭐ You have to be open to new ideas to appreciate this book. I absolutely loved it. Very thought provoking, very insightful. Osho tries to shock you into “experiencing” the essence of life. He moves beyond philosophical debate to experience. I will read this book again and again.

⭐ Very rarely a book packs this much truth. Jesus and his teachings are more of a medium than the fact behind the message or movement present here;good book, wow

⭐ Like a breath off fresh air.
